Afrihost has lost the plot

Other way round... Isp had more than its fill of cutomers and keeps on adding.

Doesn't IS own MTN?

I Whois our dedicated servers at afrihost and all pointed to Internet Solutions

Somewhere... in AfrihostLand, this may be happening right now... at an IPC near you...

PING !

:p

Why change to another provider on the same MTN network?

Axxess=Afrihost Same company

i know precious little about networks & their backbones, but given both afrihost & axxess use mtn, how is it that mybb is swamped with complaints about afrihost, but not axxess.

and then those using mtn mobile, should they not also be filling the forum with similar complaints ?

help me out here !

Too many variables to say, depends on contention ratios, throttling and shaping policy, client numbers, pipe allocation etc between the companies...

Hi Grant, mtn adsl and mtn mobile are two different beasts, not the same networks, as for AH and Axxess, Axxess manage their network different to AH, as they "manage" their "abusers" by hard throttling.

Why are their less complaints on Axxess thread? I don't know, maybe they have all left :p or the ones that are still with them aren't heavy users?

I guess there's no harm in trying them, it's just that I have no faith in mtn's network, and much prefer IS's (not home during the day), or try out crystalweb (if I needed good daytime performance).

I had an Axxess account for over a year, got rid of it just the other month for WebAfrica, what a difference with my 4mb. Axxess was horrid the last couple of months. Don't touch them, same shaping/heavy ping etc

We just migrated from AH to WA... hopefully WA doesn't suffer all the issue AH has had!

...would be interesting if a followup article is done on the whole move of the bone from IS to MTN and how it is playing out

OMW I'm so glad this is my last week on this absolutely horrendous MTNhost network.
Access here I come!
