Welcome aboard! Don't forget to run those speedtests![]()
Google for HSPA Locker and use the application to force your dongle on HSPA+ with constant data being sent through.
Works a charm to ensure your latency remains stable - I am playing BF4 with pings of 29 on a good night![]()
Wish somebody could help me. My afrihost 3G sim suddenly gives me a invalid apn error and does not connect to internet. Any thing that I can try or is this something that MTN has to provision on their side.
I got the sim with the mifi device when Afrihost had the initial special and it was working fine all along.
Thanks.
Here's mine,

Here's Afrihost response when I complain about their lack of response:
I really do appreciate your feedback, and I understand your frustration, however, this has been escalated.
Thanks again for your time.
Thank you in advance.

Supposedly world class support, ticket first logged 09 September, Coverage report sent to MTN on the 10th of September....no word since...Pathetic
@Afriguy has Afrihost changed anything with regards to the data?
I use to get around 11mb+ download and now barely get 4mb download.
To top that off, it drops connect every so often (it shows its still connected to MTN and 3G is connected),
but no throughput at all.
And when I switch to LTE (or even edge, different modem) doesn't even connect.
Anything we can do?
OK .... so Vodacom have now released a more affordable portable LTE mifi device. My question is .... is my Afrihost sim LTE enabled? How do I know this? If it is not, is it easy to have it activated for LTE? Must the APN be changed to something other than "afrihost"?
My Afrihost SIM says LTE on it...
Mine does not ... but Afrihost says LTE is active on my sim .... but it does not work :-(
SIM's can be provisioned with additional services. Usually the device hosting the SIM card will need to be rebooted for any such changes to take effect.
