We're not yet supplying routers with 3G failover as yet, so we don't officially support them. For now, we supply the Huwawei E5331 MiFi device

That I know but rph72 had a working solution. ;)

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 with ROOter Huntsman OpenWRT firmware. It sees the MTN as service provider when the MiFi is plugged in the router USB but does not connect or rather authenticate. Seems to me just afrihost as APN is not enough, there are something amiss. Trying to resolve the issue.

Well it took me 19 minutes to download iOS 7 for my iPhone which is good going if you ask me.

But damn I been lagging in Guild Wars 2 like it is nobody's business ... :(

Hi, I'm having an issue with my Afrihost mobile account.

When I just plug it in to the USB, it installs and the speed is great! As long as I use it frequently, the speed stays fast. However, if I leave it for say an hour, and then come back to use it(all the while connected via usb), the speed drops so significantly that I can't even run a proper speed test on it.

Any advice? Using the Afrihost Mifi device.

You might be able to get it work, we haven't tested these extensively on various brands.

Our testing was mostly using dongles, which generally seem to work better :)

That's a little odd. It may be that every time your reboot it starts a fresh session, so connection runs at max and then deteriorates slowly. Can't imagine why that would be to be honest.

Does that same happen when you use the MiFi with WiFi?

Throughput is generally pretty god, but Mobile does unfortunately sometimes suffer from occasional latency spikes due to the nature of radio frequencies. DSL is still the best option for gaming in my opinion - but I guess it's pretty expensive to have both :(

I don't know because it doesn't want to connect via Wifi. I can see it and enter my pin, but it doesn't connect.

If I can't get this resolved, I'll have to look elsewhere again...

That's very very strange. Drop me a PM so I can have someone give your a buzz to help with this :(

As far as we know, this should be possible. It may differ from phone model to phone model though, so check your user manual before you try it. From our tests, tethering works just fine :)

shot, will test this evening and post back here with results... otherwise will buy superglue and go with LD13's suggestion :)

Last I applied for ADSL, Telkom claimed they did not have any ports available, a mate of mine who had access to the DSLAM found 8 free ports ... (?) maybe reserved, not working, I dunno ...

My 8ta SIM does not lag nearly as much, but I also have much better signal strength on 8ta ...

If I still cannot get ADSL due to no ports being available, I'll have to look at ways/means to improve my signal strength ...

Confirmed Hotspot tethering working on iPhone 4s :)
