I have replied to your PM. Let's continue troubleshooting.
03-04-2017 to 31-07-2017 Service cancelled, it was nice dealing with the Mobile noobs for a fantastic service I could not use![]()
AfriReps I want to check something
I've noticed that if I don't have funds either data or airtime on my MTN APN or sim, I'm completely cut off even if I use the Afrihost APN despite having data with AH data . Can that be right?Sure! What's up?

Yeh no funds, and then I'm asked to sign into MTN and recharge. Thanks, let me know what they say. That is a strange one. Does this only happen after a period of no funds, or virtually immediately? I know that MTN will recycle your number after 60 days if no revenue generating MTN services run, but leading up to then your connection should work. We have hundreds of clients who use a prepaid MTN SIM with the Afrihost APN in a MiFi device. Not all of them have airtime or MTN data available and they're still able to connect.
I'll ask our Mobile Team for a better response to your query.![]()

My phone goes into airplane mode at night. Is it because it's offline for 8 hours +? Can this be disabled? This notification is by e-mail only: We’ve noticed that you haven’t connected to your Afrihost Mobile Data via APN for 8 hours on xxxxxxxxx@afrihost. This worries us because your device may have reverted to an old APN setting on your device, which means you could be on MTN’s mobile data (and could incur unexpected charges from them). Please check that your APN is still set to “afrihost” and not “myMTN” (or any other setting).
This could happen if you’ve done any OS or firmware updates recently. Some devices also need you to specify an APN for Personal Hotspot or Tethering modes, or they use a default APN...
I still get this every morning:

If I were to sign up for a phone from Afrihost, would it be possible to attach the data per month onto my existing SIM (or attach that package to the new SIM).
Basically, I want to end up with 2.5 gigs of data a month on one sim plus a Redmi Note 4 for 279 month...
Unfortunately not. The data comes linked to a new SIM during signup. These devices are dual-SIM, though, which means you'll be able to effectively use the data from both SIMs on the same device.![]()
Pity, but no huge deal. I'm already using two numbers so no space for a third. But I can use that allocation on another device, so it works out either way.
Hi Afri peeps.
I just setup my wife's phone for Afrihost mobile and noticed that trying to switch her to the Standard Call Rate no longer works. It says something along the lines of the Per Second call rate is no longer available. This is when I dial *141*4*4#
My phone isn't connecting to afrihost apn at all.
If I switch to mymtn apn it works.
Are there any issues right now with the network? Been like this for the last few hours.
Hang on...on it's way.Very strange... Drop me a PM and run some provisional resets.![]()
