Afrihost Mobile Feedback

None of the fixed Wireless services cover the areas I need it.
MTN has LTE coverage.
So I guess I am better off going directly with MTN in this case.

Do you have Telkom Fixed wireless coverage in your area? I hear that it is decent.

I have Rain, My neighbor has Telkom LTE - Same Huawei B618 routers... He is lucky to get 2-4mbps ... I get 45 - 72mbps during peak time... Cell C peaks at maximum 15mbps EVERYWHERE

Six days that our fixed lte does not work, afrihost cell-c.

No signal, it says. What gives?

Tried rebooting, taking out the sim card and putting it back, reset. Nothing.

That doesn't sound good at all. Have you reached out to our support team at all yet?

So, @afripeeps, what do your current, valued Afrihost Mobile clients need to know about AirMobile?

Here is a break down of what you need to know about Air Mobile:
  1. It is a pre-paid package. So there aren't any month to month packages.
  2. The price is R69.00 a GB and it lasts for 60 days.
  3. You will get 1 GB free each month for 3 months.
  4. Everything is done on the new Afrihost App.
  5. You can send and receive between airmobile users.
  6. All you need is an MTN sim card

Does this mean we get data roll over now on all packages?
Prices still a bit high.

If we can roll over data we will do our best to as we do believe that it is the correct thing to do. However, to answer your question is no as there are some services that we don't have control over.

Keep in mind that this service is available to anybody and it isn't a promotion of any kind.

What other packages are you comparing this with?

if i just have the afrihost data sim on my tablet, does that mean i won't be able to activate whatsapp on it

I need 500gb fixed LTE for around R1000. What my options? Dololo? Anytime gigs, I'm within range of Mtn LTE and Telkom LTE towers.

Hi @AfriNatic
I am having trouble getting the Afrihost APN to work on my phone.
I have Huawei P20 lite, dual sim
Sim1 has MTN prepaid, which I signed up for Air Mobile with.
Sim2 has rain sim.

I have followed all the correct instructions to set theAPN, but I still can't get the Afrihost APN to work at all.

I have had countless Whatsapp support chats with Afrihost consultants. All of them ask me to try the same thing, over and over again, and nothing works.

Can you assist?

AFRIHOST MOBILE - No Data Rollover!
Reported the issue in April - Received rollover. No Rollover in May, Reported again in June and No Rollover in July.

I asked for someone senior to contact myself. This was not done.
So are you saying that you are choosing to ignore the ICASA ruling regarding data expiry (that all Networks - Vodacom, MTN, CellC and Telkom have implemented 1 April 2019 ?)

Afrihost does not have to comply to the ICASA ruling. These regulations do not apply to MVNOs, resellers, or other non-licensees.

https://www.icasa.org.za/news/2019/...er-and-subscriber-service-charter-regulations

Afrihost terms and conditions stipulate that they do allow the roll over of data. Currently you need to request it and they will do it manually for you, they are working on their back-end system for this to be manually processed in future.
