Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Sadly, I didn't have any advanced warning either. Otherwise, you know I got your back ;)
I do think this is unwise considering other ISP's are offering free devices + the whole "move from ADSL" migration will be a thing for a while - offers no incentive to 1) Go to Afrihost and if someone doesnt opt for LTE at all based on the above 2) Move from ADSL and rather keep it.

2 barriers to entry :( I find myself in a weird situation where i have 10MB ADSL line and finding it hard to make an excuse to move.

Disclaimer: I looked around at other isp's - they offering the exact same deal BUT with a router. - i mean blegh... Its silly considering I would opt Afrihost first point of call

@AfriMan, Lets say my Telkom contract expires soon. Are you able to assist in the cncellation process.
or alternativly
Am i able to upgrade via you guys still on the telkom network?

Ps: i have telkom LTE currently.

I increased the data package significantly (for December, at least, to 80 + 80) via the Client Zone yesterday..
Unsure now if the R499 it displays will be the total I'm charged, or if it's R549 because of the fact that I got the original Telkom LTE deal (which included the router) ?
I'm inclined to think the latter price of R549, but please can you clarify what the upcoming invoice total should be ?

As implied by Belligerence above, options have changed since the original product was implemented, because I'm pretty sure one of the upgrade packages used to be a 70 + 50 which was done away with and now it's 60 + 60 or 80 + 80. (not a major concern).

Of more concern is whether you'll ever be able to implement daily or even periodic (weekly) updates to data usage, on these packages ?

Don't think I'm about to sign up for the MTN Pure LTE anytime soon - https://www.afrihost.com/site/newsroom/view/enjoy_pure_lte_this_summer.
I'd rather get past the initial 6 month obligation I have on the Telkom LTE (and router) option I have, first, and speeds are slower on MTN (been testing this week), compare to Telkom in my area.

With Afrihost you will always stay on the deal you signed up for, even if new clients signing up can no longer sign up for that deal. If there is a specific change to your product, we will email you with all the details and options moving forward.

If you look at the MTN offer, the quality of the router is exception - in my opinion far better than most of the free routers on offer. It offers better WiFi coverage and our tests show that it works well even in old homes with thicker walls. We'd love to offer it for free, but right now they are pretty pricey (versus cheaper models that are about 5X less).

Are you with Telkom directly, or using Telkom LTE with us?

Either way, you would need to sign up a new product if you are going onto our MTN product. If you are on Telkom via us, you can just do a product change in ClientZone.

If you are with Telkom direct, you will need to cancel and then sign up with us.

@AfriMan - Say I just in my service cancellation with telkom right - Selected service cut off for the 1st Dec.

When would be a apt time to create an order for LTE with afrihost?

Only reason i ask is because of the overlap.

ohhh.. yes direct with Telkom.
i wanted to upgrade via you guys.

But im scared to cancel with Telkom given the stories you hear..

So you cancelled recently??

if so howd it go....?
The interface is nice, you choose what you want to cancel and such, only thing that annoyed me was at the end (after confirmation Ref numbers and sms) it says Telkom will contact you within 2-5 business days.

Which i dont understand - Im cancelling -Why do they need to contact me lol -

lol yea.. i guess thats probably retention??

I need more data, like 150gig or so.. thats my main reason.. also thinking of getting a B618

Which is better? Telkoms or MTNS router?
Honestly no clue what MTN gives, But havent had an issue with my B525 recently from telkom... except wifi range all of a sudden has shrunk..
Thats why i want the best currently which is the B618 either the 65D if i stay on telkom or the 22 if i go to MTN.

I don't think you would be able to immediately get service. Perhaps if you signed up and did RICA at our walk-in centre.

Otherwise, order a little early - you'll get that period free anyway with the promotion. Otherwise, if you don't mind risking a day or two of downtime, you can make your whole first month free with us.

When you get the chance :D
