They just opened a ticket again and said they will investigate. Last time it was like this for 6 weeks. Then it got better and they said that traffic to the DSLAM was low and had been optimized. Was perfect for 4 days and then back to this for a week now.
 
Another thing is that thieves have been stealing Telkom cables every second day in our town for a month now. A week ago a piece of cable was stolen about 50m from my house at the bank. Dont know if this can also have a effect

Have checked the telkom saix notice board recently?..they just added another bunch exchanges to be upgraded.

Is the latency the same regardless of the ISP you use?

Does effect your line yes..had that issue for nearly 3 months.

Hopefully fiber would be on the way soon..telkom said they wil replace copper cables with fiber in areas where copper theft is a major issue.
 
Anyone else battling with YouTube? Under 1mbps, speedtest shows full line speed.
Even myBB slow to respond.

Well, I can't access Mweb sites again, YouTube is buffering, seeing international packet loss. And shaping was introduced on business accounts.
And Afrihost continues to deny there are any problems. The 'new' network is starting to show signs of capacity issues. Guess it's time to move on.

EDIT: and at 11 on the dot everything is back to normal? :wtf:

At 8pm or whenever your issue starts, turn your clocks to 11pm. ;)

Hope the guys can see whats happening. Its a strange issue to have
 
While everything looks ok this morning, Facebook videos are buffering again.
Why is the network so inconsistent? KZN problems which no one seems to pick-up on. It's like a yoyo.
