Latency seems quite high here, when you see these results crop up again can you grab a ping to bras.afrihost.com please?

Hi Hummercellc

I don't think it's fair saying we don't care.
We've replied to the majority of your posts, however as we cannot replicate the issues you're seeing nor does there seem to be a general trend with other users in the same area as you we've suggested that you log a ticket.

You can simply paste the results you've posted here into the ticket so you don't have to run these again. As mentioned, this is the best way forward as the results are consolidated, linked to your account and is easily accessible and quickly to escalate to between internal teams on our CMS, as opposed to posting sporadic results here.

From our chat on Friday evening, please PM me your info or the detail from the auto-responder on the ticket you logged last week.

You are in Joburg, So you won't have a problem, this is only affecting KZN.

From 7:30pm to 10:00pm every night I am unable access www.mweb.co.za, www.dstv.com, www.news24.com
YouTube buffers, and Facebook is slow or unresponsive.

This leads me to be believe something is wrong with the peering at Teraco in Durban between Afrihost & Mweb.

When switching to another ISP (VOX or IS) everything works.
I do not see this problem during the day at all.

Anything happened? World latency has dropped to 190 :)

Spoke too soon, it's up and down. Will be patient :p

There are quite a few peering/ routing agreements in place here, which means basically CC'ing the whole interwebz to see what we can do ;)

So Telkom did some stuff over the weekend etc. and said I should test tonight. The results:

If the 2nd hop used to reply to ICMP and now doesn't, it means that they've upgraded your ESR :D

Assia is not nice though. She tries really hard to help you, but dont be fooled by her presence. You will think you have it good, and then she will drop you just like that.
 
Then I am happy. Will just have to wait and see what the Assia effect will bring to the line.

So just more than a month for Telkom to 'Fix' my line.
