Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

I'm struggling since last night with my internet.

Why is the 3rd hop so high ?

4th hop ?

Most of the time there is a connection but pages are very slow to open. I have rebooted the router several times.

That's a strange result to be seeing.

What does it look like when you ping bras.afrihost.com?

AfriGenie can you please assist? I have already restarted my modem several times, and it takes a hell of a long time to reconnect. I am also losing my internet connection sporadically (my DSL line does stay synced though).

Latency seems to be coming in early here. :( Having trouble replicating the results on my side, though. What DNS settings are you using?

Mind dropping me a PM with your username and I'll check out those drops?

My HP download test is between 250-400kbps so there's definitely an improvement. I does occasionally drop to 130kbps tho.

Streams are still buffering like crazy but my youtube and nvidia driver downloads are smooth sailing. Youtube I understand but I'd imagine a gpu driver and a printer driver will have the same priority.

Please let me know if you need any tests :)

Thanks for the update. :) I'm glad to hear your experience has improved overall. When you refer to streaming, are you primarily referring to Twitch?

Hmm... To improve your Twitch experience have you ever heard of something called Tards Player? You can download it from tards.net. :)

I've tried it before months ago. But it wouldn't connect when I tried the other night.

Will look into it again tonight.

Tardsplayer is no longer supported so I tried it using livestreamer to play it from VLC. Still only got 70-80kbps :(
