Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

No ADSL since Saterday night, line dead as a doorknob, very frustrating to have 200 GB just sitting there while having to pay R100 per Gb for mobile data.
Telkom pritty please hurry up.

What's up?
Something is happening in my line. Same symptoms with my vox account.
Speeds are wonky.
YT buffers like crazy.
Google play store updates all over the place.
P2p seems ok.

Can you check if there are port errors on my line? Will pm you my number.

Got to give it to Telkom this time. After my line being dead since Saturday evening they have been working on it all day, it's not fixed yet but around a hour ago the techie calls me. Very sorry that we haven't been able to sort your line yet, something at the exchange etc etc, we are continuing tomorrow but in the meanwhile we have been able to at least get you something, it's not great, it's not very stable, but you will at least be able to browse and email tonight.

I'm getting around 0.2 up and 1 MB down and SNR is terrible, but at least I'm online again. Thanks Telkom.

Very sorry that we haven't been able to sort your line yet, something at the exchange etc etc, we are continuing tomorrow but in the meanwhile we have been able to at least get you something, it's not great, it's not very stable, but you will at least be able to browse and email tonight.

Do you think they would throttle you if you started to download? ;) :D

Well, after 6 days of the fault being open, they close it after calling when my brother said call back in about an hour as I was on my way home.
Lo and behold the fault was closed about 30 seconds later. So called Afrihost, nice guy there reopened the fault, my internet disconnects completely for two minutes about half an hour later.
Now my line is at 8.2dB downstream, which is nice.

Going to see how it handles tonight, might be the first night where I do not suffer from constant disconnects.
6 days turn-around though, fastest I have ever had, compared to my 3.5 weeks last time. Still horrendous.

Did you cut the red, yellow or blue wire? Never ever cut the white wire. ;)

Ps. Any time frame when your line will be properly fixed? :)
