Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

It will be interesting to see what Afrihost comes up. Im happy with pricing, so wouldnt complain if i got bumped up from say 200GB's to 300GB's etc and paying the same. Something has got to give sooner rather than later, as the other ISP's are busy reacting to the Wholesale IPC cuts

i just hope AH dont take a year to adjust pricing when the rest have made the changes like they did a year or two ago cant remember

I think their pricing is spot on to be fair to them. Can they go cheaper considering that they the cheapest along with Axxess, compared to the the rest. Best case scenario is that they give us more data for the same price which would be really good as well. I agree though, it would be nice to get a response quickly and not wait a long time, because people might just get frustrated at the wait and move elsewhere, because another ISP is giving some good deals

i agree i am happy with the price at the moment but with IPC cuts coming next month, i would love to either see price cut or data increase!

At the moment we're still not sure how the pricing changes will affect us, the moment we receive any sort of confirmation we'll let you guys know. :)

My Boss has an Email

Oh sorry i thought we were just saying what we were doing??

Quake latency is poor tonight over 80ms pings on local.

Quake latency is poor tonight over 80ms pings on local.

I've had to change to vox to play CS:GO for over a month now in the 5-10pm period. Just haven't reported anything because I know it won't get fixed. This on 40mbit vdsl

Yo afrigents
This ticket is starting to burn my patience, not only is the line still extremely unstable, now there's massive congestion as well,i'm quite near cancelling the whole kaboodle since I have to use my 3g to do anything remotely ping sensitive

No, there is nothing else running. No, I did not do any other tests. Yes, please do something about it - whether it is congestion or not. You manage my line and my data. This has been for basically a year now. I would like the ticket number as soon as possible, WITH REGULAR UPDATES please.

I am so frustrated.

Not associated with afrihost, so only trying to see if there are some other ways to help you find out what the problem is.

Have you tried to run Zertops line test tool? It does help localise line problems and can sometimes indicate if the problems could be associated with "exchange congestion"

If it is congestion, the only thing Afrihost can do is to report it, and whoever needs to increase the capacity of the exchange you are connected to. Im in the same boat with line issues and congestion, all i can do is report it, but im not holding my breath that it would be resolved

Above when I force router to use AH default DNS
Preferred DNS Server: 169.1.1.1
Alternate DNS Server: 169.1.1.2

When I set the router to auto DNS it uses.

Preferred DNS Server: 169.1.1.3
Alternate DNS Server: 169.1.1.10

And this after Telkom came to "fix" the exchange problem....yikes.

Must be all the kids playing online games in the area on youth day :wtf:

Its interesting how many of us have this same latency issue in different areas at the first hops. And its not congestion on mine according to telkom
