Last night I remembered about some data on a old drive not backed up to my Crashplan cloud backup yet, so now I have 500 GB odd uploading and at the current rate it says 51 days remaining. Anyone willing to borrow me their 100 MB fiber line for a week or so? I'll even bring my own data, I've got plenty, in fact I must use 60 GB before month end otherwise I'll lose it.

Im assuming this cloud company is SA based?..

No they're not, so taking my drive to them isn't a option. Back when I researched a total cloud backup solution the one or two SA based companies I could find had very expensive offerings for the amount of data so I chose to go with Crashplan which is like $5 per month for unlimited data. Yes I know one day if I for some reason have to retreave all my data from the cloud it will be a very painful and lenthy process.

Damn thats sucks dude...one company in capetown has a 500GB backup plan for a R999 and 200GB backup plan R295 called soteria cloud...maybe have a look at that. I know its pricy but atleast your stuff will be local and easily obtainable when needed.

I'll definatly explore local options again if my year subscription runs out in November, but luckally I have hard drives with backups as well, so this cloud backup is a very last resort in case the brown stuff seriously hits the fan.

8th night in a row, Mweb sites are inaccessible. Does Afrihost care? It would seem not.
And when I can't access Mweb sites YouTube buffers and Facebook is slow. Switching to an IS or vox account and everything works.

Even speedtest looks good

Same thing for me in Cape Town. Been having YouTube and latency issues for the last few days from around 7:30pm

Code:
Tracing route to www.afrihost.com [104.20.30.244]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Why are people visiting mweb's website for testing?
I can't visit DSTV, Mweb & News24.
Those are all hosted on Mweb's network, so YouTube is pulling from international because I can't access the Mweb network from Afrihost, those sites are still inaccessible for me ATM.
Facebook also battling because I can't reach the Mweb network.

It seems to be a problem at Teraco with peering to the Mweb network in Durban. It happens every night now, during the day everything works fine.

That is really bad. I hope they sort out your problem, but not to be rude, but the support of ISP companies for me doesn't know a lot. I have to thank the Afri-Fellas on Mybroadband that sorted out my line problems I had and since they fixed it my internet has been a blast downloads going quick except Torrents, but that is expected of an uncapped account. Youtube streaming flawlessly.

The only thing that annoys me is you said it is the 8th night in a row and that is unacceptable. I learned to have patience, because internet problems isn't usually a quick fix in South-Africa. Can't wait until Fibre is a lot more available.

I have posted many trace routes, and tried different DNS servers, different routers, capped and uncapped accounts, different dsl lines, different PC's, All to no avail.
Switching to my vox or IS account and all is well. 100% a Afrihost problem.
But it seems not one of rep's could be bothered in the slightest.

All those sites are working 100% for me though.
