Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

Huh... I have no idea why MyBB would route internationally... Maybe because of Cloudflare?

That shouldn't affect the Android updates though. Were there any other services that were affected?

Would make a lot of sense as IP tracker shows 104.20.71.110 as a US based cloudflare address, so its not a AH issue.

I'm not sure if you've read my previous posts? This is exactly what we've reviewing.

I have read your posts, you are telling me that a manager is going to query this with the dev team, your account call centre agent (I edited the e-mail and flagged his name) told me that you do not have a 50gb 10mb package but I am on that package, refer to his e-mail I posted above, this is what is getting me irate. The invoice I received is R498, your website states that a bundled package is R465 on 50gb 10mb and that is the package I am on. Even client zone says I am on a bundled package and I save R33. You are also not telling me when are you getting back to me regarding this. The accounts agent has already closed that ticket that I opened as soon as I received the invoive yesterday. So why do you advertise, to the public, prices that are not correct.

They are doing something about it, see blow reply from AG

As mentioned, our Accounts Manager has already created as query - this was mentioned in my initial reply to you in my edit.
I see you created the bundle with your Afrigreen account, which may be where the issues comes in. Either way, our Dev and Accounts team will be able to query this further.

You have already received the discount twice which has been manually applied. So if a bundled discount is still owing to your account it'll gladly be allocated.

Stop trying to make AH the bad guy here, I have never had to struggle 2 months to get support out of AH, either you logged the fault and didn't do any follow ups and two months later you suddenly you woke up and realized that there is issue with your account.. The fact that AH has discounted you for the error clearly states they are aware of the issue and are working on it, if they didn't care about it, you wouldn't have received the discount. So relax please, you making a scene about something small.

We've already run over what's gone wrong, please review my previous posts thoroughly - we're looking at this for you and will confirm an update via mail.

check my reply to your post on cloudflare

They do run via CloudFlare - I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to work though. I stand to be corrected though :)
Do you have other tests you can compare that also sit behind CloudFlare?

nah its cool m8, I was just trying to test and see if I was getting the same results as those who posted about high latency to MyBB. I'm in the IT field and I'm studying My N+ so I have somewhat of an understanding on routing works and always trying to study the modern methods of routing...as long as Netflix is working at night I couldn't care less about the other stuff:D lol

Ah awesome man!! Networks are fascinating beasts :D
The results posted here have been a bit odd, hence the open call with NOC - so I'm sure we'll get things fixed up.

I'm busy going through Lynda stuff for networking, building a homelab :)
How far are you into your N+?

They are indeed fascinating and sometimes hard to understand which frustrates the hell out of me, that's why I wish to study them.
Well I have already done my N+ exam and passed it *few* lol..busy with security+, atm and must say daaammn that's a lot of reading. Risk assessment, SLA's, cloud security, network security etc...I'm trying to get in to a cloud server environment, as I would like to get my MCSA Server(both exams) and MSCE private and public cloud certificate..Seeing as most large companies will soon go cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc) it would make a lot sense to go that route to improve my IT career.

If it is this, then the only time you will see discounts like this, is when you sign up anytime other than the 1st of the month. If you signed up to a 50GB package on the 15th, you will be discounted for only using it for 2 weeks. So basically a pro rata data and cost.

If the user has been discounted again the next month, then clearly its just an error on the AH side, which they have clearly by the looks of it acknowledged, but in good faith gave the client the discount. I could be wrong but the way im reading it.

*edit* is there a way to see a bit of your invoice?
Referring to the bundled monthly cost of R465 versus the R498 that he is talking about. Not referring to the discount given by joining later in the month. But anyways, let me rather stay out of it as it has nothing to do with me. It is AH's problem to deal with and not really my place to say anything. Only reason I posted the screenshot in the first place is because it seemed as if people couldn't understand what he was talking about. It seems everyone is on the same page now......hopefully.

Sounds like you're on the right track though dude, good luck with the studies :)

Mate of mine I worked with back in the day was busy with his full Cisco certification. CCNA, CCNP and all that - different ball game entirely o.0

Might not be an Afrihost issue, but even accessing their site shows routed that way. It started at about 20:30 last night and returned to normal around 6:00 this morning.

Thanks dude, now I just need to wait for the opportunity to get some experience:)

Fair enough.

Now if I may offer some "advice":

Stop trying to make other people's problems seem small and insignificant just because your experience has been hunky dory.
Just because his problem is "small" in your eyes doesn't mean his problem is any less of a problem.

-snip

If it was our site too then I can only assume something odd was happening.
Cheers for posting these results, they're all being logged with a NOC call :)
