Extremely high ping once again! The problem obviously hasn't been resolved or Telkom is slowly throttling us to force us to make the switch to fibre, this is absolute BS. Such poor infrastructure teamed with such poor support.
My local ping in DBN is over 100ms my international ping is somewhere between 300-400ms. The service is so poor i cant believe we even pay for this level of quality for our internet
Please resolve this issue ASAP guys!!!!!

As has already been reported, Durban is completely broken on the KLT Cape Town hop.

Yeah @ Poolshark Over Afrihost now moving my domain and account away from them now fibre has just been installed here so will use that with a different isp Thanks Afrihost but over it now.

Everything running great on my Telkom account.

Oi.

Mod_note: These threads are clearly designed/intended for customers to provide feedback to their respective ISPs - not for disgruntled former customers to vent, not for other ISPs to promote their services, etc - and, one hopes, for the relevant ISP to respond.

Yup gotta give AH props. They seem to have fixed it. Youtube has been top notch all night and my tracert says its using the local server.

My latency also isn't great atm, same as pretty much all peak times on Afrihost. That said, everything is working fine. Since switching to Chrome and the Magic Actions for Youtube extension, Youtube has been streaming perfectly.

Results don't look that great at all :(
Latency looks to be introduced quite early on which may be increasing your latency to that hop - are you seeing the same results this morning?

Your high local latency may indicate issues somewhere else :(
Is there a traceroute you can post here so we can see where the latency's increasing?

Where abouts is your latency increasing?
Does that Chrome extension enable you to select which cache your content is served from?

Morning everyone!

We have some sad news this morning, this will be AfriGuy's last day on the forums. He'll be retiring from active duty to focus on gazing at the mountain and drinking craft beer :)

I just want to say, on behalf of the whole team, that he's been an amazing friend, colleague, teacher, student, and all round amazing dude! The best thing about family is that, no matter where he goes, he'll carry the Afrihost spirit with him.

I'm sure everyone will agree that he's made a huge contribution here on the forums, and he'll be missed.

We're super excited for him about the path that lies ahead and we'd like to say a heartfelt "Thank you" for his time with us.

AfriGuy, you are a legend, bro!
