speeds are really bad at the moment and are up and down the whole time which makes it impossible to do anything
come on ah sort out your problems so your network can run trouble free for more than 2 days after all we are paying for a working service

My latency stats to twitch are awful in comparison. Buffering all the bl00dy time. Abysmal.
I've escalated shocking international performance on my line. Local is perfect. Intl. is rubbish.
AH are absolutely unable to crack this between themselves and Telkom.
For context I'm on a 20mbps VDSL. Get 19mbps on local and stuffing 60% of that on Intl. - consistently :(
Coincidentally also in CPT.

YouTube buffering to death at the moment. Impossible to even watch a video on 420p using 10Mbps ADSL.

Have you ever considered moving to a different ISP? You seem to constantly have issues, so just wondering if another isp works for you, why not move?

Currently pretty much everyone has these issues.

Up until 4pm I had 190 ping in Heroes of the Storm, I went to beach, came back, and now it's about 297ms.

100% with you pal, but just wondering if sometimes you get a good experience somewhere else, its not best to move. No bad intentions from me, but im just keen to know.

Strange that people experience these bad issues after a specific time, and not during Free Time. I know most people get home after 6pm, but just very weired that some experience issues, others dont. Interesting

Yeah, it seems Afrihost tried to move people to Free Time but people still stream in the evenings.

I don't think they are having capacity issues, usage for me is constant at 9-10MB/s with normal latency through out the day.

Throughout the day, then one has an issue with latency in the evenings. Most of the content that you stream is probably hosted on local caches.

What is happening to afrihosts latency its been great for a really long time now for the past 2 weeks its been really crappy getting from 250 - 500ms in world of warcraft or Heroes of the storm to EU Servers. Normally i sit at 180-200ms?????????????????????????

This is exactly what I am busy doing, I've had enough. I'm just asking for feedback from people on other ISPs on how their youtube/twitch etc performance is and their local and international game latency.

I've also noticed same in GW2.

I had the same problem with latency. Moved to Crystalweb and haven't looked back since.

Don't worry, someone is looking into it...

Why I pay for a service it must be fixed when you not using the service it is not my problem and is not of your problem to defend Afrihost

Good grief. If i was defending them, i wouldnt have suggested an alternative. Stop lashing out when somebody is trying to help you, you constantly think there is some sort of agenda.

Maybe there is someone that can help me here, this morning my internet started acting up, some websites wouldn't open, links on gmail wouldn't open, just get a website unavailable, very slow and unresponsive on sites that would open, I switched back to my old modem and all is well again, I haven't touched any settings on my new modem which is a ASUS AC52U, I have no idea how this is possible, is this a DNS issue? I know my steam downloads were having issues even after Afriman said they were working on some things, and this morning it looks like p2p was at a crawl as well.

Edit: I was trying to see if I could stream anything from Kodi on a Android box over wifi, all links were dead, that is the only thing that is different.

It sounds like it could be a DNS issue... Do you know which DNS servers your modem is pulling from us at the moment?
