Flowery metaphors aside, we're giving clients two options: Lock in Double Data by opting for a (potentially) Shaped product and return to your base package (i.e. discontinuing the promotional free data) and enjoy the same premium capped experience.

I count four options?

1. Double Data
2. Boosted Data
3. Afrihost Plus More Confusion
4. Cancel

The products were definitely marked XGB+XGB to clearly denote the paid and free data on this promotion. We have been doing this for years when we've run this promotion. It's really silly to imply that this was in any way deceptive or misleading. This was printed all over the page, in as many places as we could think to put it. Not to mention the many emails from Gian on the subject.

If you selected a 100GB package from client zone it gave you 50+50. I complained at the time and AfriGuy changed it manually to 100+100 as Client zone would not allow another change. Unfortunately I did not take a screen shot as I never expected to have to defend it or prove it.

Your web page may have stated it, but if you asked for 100GB you were allocated 50+50 and several of my clients did just that without noticing, hence me testing for myself.

Semantics aside you should have just canceled Double Data and not made it a complex new package.

The many emails from Gian is the reason that most of them are in my clients Spam folder.

As for returning users to the base package, you are not, the default is the same data allocation but on a shaped accout. If they had wanted shaped accounts they would have been on uncapped.

I know you have had a rough day but so have your clients, especially those of us that act as your intermediary to our clients. so please cut the marketing speak, be honest, and accept some negative feedback for once.

I cancelled my Afrihost account.
It's been a bumpy ride but I have used up my last bit of patience I had.

We're definitely taking note of the feedback that we are receiving.

Our Team put a lot thought and consideration into these changes, as well as a lot of feedback from quite a few of our Clients.

I know we keep focusing in on the shaping, but I really don't expect it to be necessary 99% of the time, but by having that option we're able to keep the product price down.

This. I for one would have shrugged, accepted that freebies end at some point and been overjoyed if and when "mystery data" day arrived and been happy that the 12 - 8am free time remained on the relevant package.

Renaming of packages, monetary values attached to free time times and with the dreaded shaping finding its way to a capped account + the fine print just confuses the issue.

That said, staying for now, see how this shaped capped (!!) account thing pans out.

I'm pretty sure you can expect the same experience going forward. :)

Please clarify for me. Before all this double data nonsense i was on 400gb capped at R799. I never changed my package when we got the double data. So if i go with priority booosted, do I revert back to to my 400gb per month with no shaping? What about after hours data? Is there a change to that?
