Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

Mine's total is also R298, show's 200+200GB =R199 + Afrihost+=R99, but I don't think that qualifies for Free time, just midnight to six. If I'm not mistaken, your base account must be R299 before you qualify for Free time. The minimum is a 300GB account
Which is why im asking, because my email i received i had 2 options.

300 + 300GB at R299 shaped or 150GB + 150GB unshaped at R299.

I already did 2 package changes, so i asked if they can manually change me to the 150 + 150GB unshaped at R299 as per the offer that came through.

So will have to now wait and hear from the AfriReps
 
I just received 8 abuse emails stating I downloaded the exact same file 8 times on the same day across 3 accounts. “the man in the high castle season 2” Amazon content. Never heard of the show, and I have no interest in watching it. Amazon seem to be on a mission.
 
Hey, my internet speed is fluctuating. Latency fluctuates between about 36ms then drops to over 2000ms, the speed goes from 3.86mbps then drops to 0.05mbps. Then it goes back up again.....and down again. This only seems to happen during the day. My mini Dslam is meters away. Telkom have tried resetting the port, and Afrihost have refreshed the data session, but it still persists, Fault at the exchange perhaps? My modem is brand new.

Can you post your line stats, also a possibility, your phones, tablets, Dropbox, etc could be syncing your data to the cloud, which will saturate your upload and cause latency spikes as well as poor performance.

Nothing syncing. Just drops.

Just been monitoring it now, it dropped for ten minutes then went back up again.

You line is kaput, unplug all devices from the line like alarm, filters, phones, everything. Then plug only the router by itself into the line and monitor it.

only the router is plugged in. why do you say kaput? I know the SNR and attenuation look ridiculous, but they are so obscenely off that I think 279 (0.1 db) is actually 27.9? I mean if those where the actual readings then I doubt I would get a connection at all? Or is it time to get a technician out?
 
um ive just been charged R458 on my invoice. ive also been charged R60 for Simfy.

i opted for the 150GB unshaped package + AfriPlus at R299 as per the emil i received. so why am i being charged R60 for Simfy?

Today is the 1st time im super annoyed with team red. How or why would i sign up with Simfy, if i already have AfriPlus which includes Simfy?

Also the email stated i can opt in for the unshaped 150 + 150gb package at R299, but no where did it mention excluding AfriPlus. So my understanding is that according to the email, im paying R299 incl Plus.

So im super annoyed that im still being asked to pay for Simfy :mad:

And online chat guy just left without saying goodbye or if there is anything further he can assist me with :wtf

Just got my invoice for Jan, I chose to go for the unshaped package. I am not being allocated my bundle discount. Opened a ticket, I suggest everyone else also checks their invoice.

Interesting you mention this now. I had a look at mine. I also asked for the unshaped package, but mine is showing 100 + 300GB @ R199 plus AfriPlus at R99 so total R298. Hmm does that mean i dont get the free time by like R1?

On the email i received, i went for the 150 + 150GB package at R299. So im hoping this is all good in terms of FreeTime

Not looking good. :( Are you still battling with this today? If you're in Joburg/Gauteng it could be weather related...
