Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 3

The lowest ping I ever seen to London is ~168ms on my brothers Vumatel Gigabit fiber in JHB, so I think you're quite right there. No way is 130ms ping to any international possible... unless we're talking about other African countries.

The international line is about 145ms from Cape Town to Lisbon, you can do 135ms from Cape Town to Portugal. Since my line got fixed to 8ms bras.afrihost.com instead of 22, I have 161-165ms to LoL EuW during off-peak. Fiber should be able to get that to 155ms. Joburg add 10ms best-case.

AH reps you keep saying expect the network to improve, be more specific on the adjustment engineers are meant to be making to the network to improve things in the south.

I'm yet to see an improvement.

Secondly, if there are know issues in the south why does your network status reflect everything is ok?

You should most definitely have seen an improvement by now. If you're still experiencing issues, then we need to start looking at local issues that could be affecting your connection.

That's good to hear! What sort of latency are you getting during peak-times?

Don't even go the local issues route.

Your network - latency spikes and speeds all over the place

WA - full speeds, no latency spikes.

I posted results way back that were ignored, read back on your thread.

Be more specific on what changes were made to the network.

How is that your network running like a bomb?

Forgot to mention that I am on Fibre, and usually see a ping of around 30ms at most in BF4. Currently seeing 130+

The improvement means not permanently bad but still very unstable

Trying to do updates from the Google play Store this morning, but throughput fluctuating between 700Kbps and 1.5Mbps. This on my 20Mbps line.
Tracert. It is different than a week ago.

Local speed tests also looking normal.

So even though I've cancel AH+ along with Simfy, I just got the invoice to pay R60 for Simfy for Feb?

Also cancelled 9th January and made sure Simfy also cancelled. Just received R60 invoice for Feb. Email sent to accounts.... hopefully sorted before debits go off.

So, I'm not the only one with dial up speeds on an adsl line. I'm glad I managed to at least connect to mybb!

Trying to play some rocket league, it's a NO go....if I can't play online then this account becomes pretty pointless, not the only game I've had issues with this week either.

At around 2PM i was downloading torrents between 17-18.5Mbps, now just before 6PM nothing will go past 300KB/s on a well seeded file.

Heavy shaping taking place on unshaped capped accounts.

Funny how speedtest reflects a different story.
