Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 3

That sounds like my current issue. @Afripeps, can you check if I am on interleave or fastpath?
Gigabit port I have <1ms latency versus the 1-2ms latency on the local network using my old router back in 2012.
Unless you're trying to squeeze an extra 10ms, this is not your problem. Finn my experience and extensive testing with a senior tech is max 15ms difference between to two data handling types.
 
Latency issues again... right now (9:59PM), CSGO ping is all over the show...

It appears to be a specific hop (cpt-net1.ip.adsl.co.za)

Exactly the same as mine. Bras is fine.
Your results point to AH congestion /fault
 
Excellent performance for me last night. Youtube was streaming at 1080p with no problems. The only issue i had for a short period was client zone crashing on me

My 7 to 9.30 was terrible. Came right after that
 
If stating on Facebook to a AH rep that my fault isn't being escalated, then him replying saying I should probably move my line directly to telkom and then me him that is just repeating nonsense is "contrary to social guidelines" then wow!!!!
I must have missed that part social standards when growing up

First of all, I'm not making assumptions here, but our Social Media Team usually blocks, bans or hides comments that are abusive or generally unconstructive. DSL faults can be super frustrating, so I can understand why anyone can get angry when it takes long to sort out. :( Feel free to PM me with details to your Facebook account and I'll look into what happened.

I'm based in EL, my mates and I been getting latency issues since beginning of the year as well.
Like most people being saying, between 6-11pm its unbearable.

We all running on auto dns, and whenever we switch to free WA account like everyone else, there are no issues whatsoever.
Download speeds are all perfect, only latency been giving us problems.

Is this ever gonna be resolved :(

Would love to see a traceroute run while you're experiencing these issues. :) It would help us see where your latency is coming in.

That's really cool to hear! :D (Not the ClientZone part) was it down for long?
 
My ping to bras.afrihost.com seems higher than normal - averaging 17ms. I see the option to reset your line is not available on Client Zone anymore?
 
Is there something on the blink with the Afrihost support desk? I've logged an incident through clientzone yesterday just before 8am and apart from the automated "Thank you for contacting us blah blah blah" mail I have not received any updates or feedback. I've also logged a call-me-back this morning but have still not been contacted.
 
My problem with Afrihost is I can't get a Season match online in Fifa 17 on the PS4, plus the slow browsing and YouTube now and then. With Fifa 17 I can find a match but it never starts I just keep waiting for the game to start till the other person disconnects. If I change to any other ISP it works fine.
 
My ping to bras.afrihost.com seems higher than normal - averaging 17ms. I see the option to reset your line is not available on Client Zone anymore?

That API has been temporarily removed by Telkom. I can still run a port reset for you on my side. Please PM me your details.

Can you confirm your current DNS settings?
