Hi AfriPeeps, I'm moving house tmrw and Telkom is transferring my line first thing. However my ADSL rental is through you, Telkom had no issue with that but I'm wondering what the procedure is so that you guys "know" my line is now on a different number? Or is it all automatic?

In order to move the line from one premises to another, we need to move the line back to Telkom and then migrate it back. The reason is sometimes the line changes number and Telkom also don't do the relocation unless they manage the line. Best to drop our lines team a message so they can give you all the instructions to do this.

As far as connecting with your new line, that shouldn't be an issue. We lock Uncapped accounts to a single number for 24 hours, and then it will accept the first incoming number to authenticate.

Telkom are relocating the line no problem? I told them my line rental was through you and they said it was no problem to move voice and the data line. The number will definitely change. I'm on a capped account.

I've submitted a ticket tho.

Dear Afrihost

We are battling now for a week to get this sorted: We are currently on 20 mbps VDSL Afrihost bundled line and we wish to up this line to 40mbps.

We have asked, TelkomZA confirmed in writing and Telkom support confirmed per telephone that the exchange and line is well capable of 40 mbps but Telkom is not allowed to change the profile because the line is run by Afrihost.
When we then ask Afrihost they say no it cant be upgraded.

This is the same issue as last year when we switched from 10mbps to 20mbps, Telkom says YES we can, Afrihost says NO you cant :(

Please can you urgently assist, I have private messaged you as well with the line number.

Hmmm, I don't think they are supposed. I think we'll have to address when you have moved and we'll have to sort it out with Telkom once the number has changed.

Can you PM me all the deets once you're all setup and we'll get everything sent through?
