My speedtest from several days ago was 8.7Mbps, more like this speedtest here:

CZ says current sync rate: 10240kbps

Now it is 6.6Mbps, and sync speed in router says 7899Kbps

Test my ADSL line under CZ fails...

What gives?!

Your line could be stabilised here, the speedtests aren't too bad for the line sync.
PM me your number and I can try and have a look at what's happening here.

That is interesting that it is a VoD broadcast that you are having issues with. Have you been able to try out any live Twitch.tv streams?

So basically a business line has no meaning anymore, and this is just another fancy terminology designed to screw over the end customer?

As discussed via PM, your line is being stabilised via ASSIA. Our Business accounts simply refer to the data allocated to them, not the line.
Any DSL is and will be routed via ASSIA.

Please can you refer me to the official ASSIA documentation. I am interested to see what it is all about.

Yip, your line issues are not an Afrihost issue... Telkom set your line speed depending on length, quality of your line. Business accounts are simply not shaped and have added features such as allowing you to block or slowing p2p. This is to my knowledge at least. :)
 
Seeing high latency and slow speeds on my capped DSL account in Joburg - any issues on the network?
 
Nevermind - drop box was destroying my connection :o

If you have a TP-Link router, just enable "bandwidth control" and enter the max values of your line.

This sorted out my issues (ping of 2000ms down to +- 300ms) when icloud updated.
 
I have started using Unotelly DNS since Netflix launched in SA. While Netflix stream perfectly without issues, other apps like ShowMax and YouTube all buffers. Even Facebook on the Samsung phone was buffering yesterday. After I switched to "get dns dynamical from ISP" on the NETGEAR router, everything worked perfect, but this means that I am only confined to NETFLIX's SA version. I am using Unotelly DNS on the router and not on the laptop ( as I don't like to watch movies on the laptop) and if I use the DNS on the TV (LG WebOS smart) Netflix app does not work. This is not a complaint, just seeking some tips as how can I resolve the issue as this means that everytime I need to watch NETFLIX USA I must use Unotelly DNS and for the rest of other things I must switch back to "automatic" DNS.
