I am using utorrent, never had an issue and other ISP's don't have an issue either.

I tried qBittorrent for one day, my downloads could not complete, just stopped, I unistalled it and reverted to utorrent and like always before, the same download completed within an hour, 1.7GB download.

Did this start happening after ASSIA was disabled? :(

Sadly yes, my line is so F@7%ked that I need that S@#t on my line to keep it on a stable 4mb , SO disappointed right now. TelkomZA has me on a test DSM profile my overall SNR improved and its more stable and zero HEC errors, but the pain in the backside high ping is back so that's online gaming completely done for me:(..I'm done fighting this K@K system will just wait till telkom completely f%$#ks up our copper backbone even more and ADSL just disappears , its after the last piece of copper they replaced that these issues started..and happens every time the stolen copper pieces gets replaced.

I advise PurSpyk!! to immediately downgrade his account to the "premium" uncapped option as I suspect the performance to be the same then, so might aswell save some money, or even better yet, speak to DJ.

Looking at my options, as I am really getting no where, no matter how much test and information I supply.

Alright guys this is not on. My connections seems to just die, then I need to reboot, it works, then dies again. Rinse and repeat.

If this happens this weekend, my cancelation notice will be sent.

Did you lose connectivity entirely? As in did your modem drop the connection or did you just lose throughput?

The critical care team is incredibly slow. At this point it's just regular care. It's like they're limited to one message a day.

They could be waiting for feedback, I'll chase up with them.

PPPoE session was fine, could ping bras.afrihost.com and had an external IP. Couldn't ping 8.8.8.8 or anything past the BRAS.

Im out in JHB South, 8Mb business uncapped, Smooth sailing all the way.

Although.. one thing that does not work these days... Is the news server news.afrihost.co.za i think it stopped working around the same time the new network cam along, but I dont use it enough for it to bother me. I get the error "Cannot connect to server news.afrihost.co.za:119 [501 user Name|pass Password]"

did the settings for this change at some point? or is it just not working "By Design"

The News Server is definitely still active, it should use your DSL details to authenticate on the server. Which News Server Client are you using?

Its with Afrihost. Absolutely nothing wrong with Afrihost, was watching a show on Netflix last night and it loaded 720p in a matter 10 seconds with 17000 kbps throughput from the server.

Aah no problem. It actually came I'm very useful for me when I was 3 day's down. Wish the isps would introduce a similar data sim option :)

:(

Cable theft is a major stuff-up, I don't think any cables that get replaced ever run as well as they originally did. Do you know if there are plans to roll-out FTTH in your area?

Yea it does, actually have a Vodacom usb modem for those dark days, performance is way better than telkom mobile, just really expensive though

That's a strange one, and to be honest with you, that sounds Exchange related, in most cases if the issue was cause by our account you would lost the PPPoE session entirely. Would you mind PM'ing me your ADSL username so that I can check what happened from our side.
