While I fully understand your frustrations, I think you're jumping to a lot of conclusions.
I don't think it's fair to just assume that some teething issues is what the network is guaranteed to be like. I know our network performance has been patchy in the past, but understand that we've seen great results on this network, and continue to do so.

It's only normal that a few teething issues occur in the beginning.

I think the point he is trying to make is that "the beginning" was several months ago, and customers were hoping for a faster fix. The network before Afrigreen was just lying there like a steaming pile of garbage, and Afrigreen showed some promising advances, but the thing is that other networks have far better networks already, which perform better in every aspect other than pricing.

And where is YOUR networking monitoring that picked this up? AGAIN, now the east only became a "confirmed" issue AFTER a client moaned about it. Do you have ANY network monitoring in place?

And, in your own words, "Issue confirmed" So now that the issues are CONFIRMED, I trust you will UPDATE YOUR NETWORK STATUS TO REFLECT YOUR POOR NETWORKING OUTAGE... YET AGAIN!

We have network monitoring in place.

I've had about as much as I can take with this new network.
Downloads are ok but just browsing etc, sites which I often visit take forever to come in, even my own site which is hosted at Webafrica in Capetown takes ages to display.
The MyBroadband Speed Test site never comes in at all.
Traceroutes and speed test are ok but surfing and the time to connect for a download often times out and I have to refresh several times.
This is the pits.
I have been very patient with all this testing and now I want out.
How do I drop my package from a 50+50 capped to a 10+10 capped for next month while I look for a better ISP ?

Honestly though, if we exclude tonight and look at the day - we've seen good results.
This is a teething issue, something that can be expected not even 10 days into the roll out of a brand new network.

I get that it's frustrating, and I know we all want a quick fix. But the reality is, teething issues take time to work through. Something that we're doing, and can expect to see great things going forward.

Sorry to hear we've let you down.
We are working through a few issues this evening.

Package changes can be done via ClientZone.

10 Days?

How long has Afrigreen been running now, WITH customers on it? More like 10 months yes!

PS: Your network status STILL says everything is hunky dory in the AfriHost Dream land... I take it you STILL haven't confirmed that you have issues?

Not in production, no.
Afrigreen hasn't been around for 10 months either.

I am not jumping to conclusions, I had many discussions with yourself and other Afrihost reps, and I made a few comments about your new network, you claimed I was assuming too much, to be honest most of my comments have proven to be correct. I would also like to know why the south region get charge the same price as we seem to suffer far more outages that the rest. There should be a reduction in cost due to network stability, or your ability to provide the service you advertise. I do admit when your network works, it does work well, the problem is it runs poorly far too often.

So I've been told, but where in the Clientzone can I do this, all I see is to sign up for a new additional package and that's the last thing I want.
The old Clientzone was so easy.
Some guidance would be appreciated.

Once logged in, head to Connectivity, select your package and then Edit Package.

Why did Afrihost decide to move away from POC? It seemed to be giving better results than this network -- latency was better, and pages were more responsive (didn't wait a second or two before content started loading).

The current production network is based directly off rules of Afrigreen, so essentially behaves the same.
Not sure how latency was better though, as there was only one POP, so the South and East was routing via the North, whereas we have presence in all regions now.

Have you been seeing issues other than this evening?

It's just been generally more sluggish, and there have been problems in the evenings with occasional disconnects and ping spikes.

Looking much better here!
I'd like to investigate the session drops though, shouldn't be any problems here - could you PM me your info? I'll check this out first thing tomorrow morning.

This is Afrigreen, not the new network. The new network is making the internet practically inaccessible.

I'll drop a PM now.

Both are on the same network as of the migration last week, whether you use @afrigreen or @afrihost.co.za it all routes via the same IPC.

Can confirm issues here. Taking minutes to load normal websites. YouTube mostly ok.
