Including the slow download speed I just noticed now that Facebook, Twitter and Gmail all just gone incredibly slow.
Thanks for the update, can you please check for me which DNS servers your ADSL modem is currently using.
DNS is automatic.
That's fine, but I was hoping you could check which two DNS servers you were allocated.![]()
Oh lol![]()
How do I check that?
Oh did you mean?
169.1.1.3
169.1.1.1
Edit*
Twitter, Facebook, Gmail browsing getting worse.
This webpage is not available
ERR_SPDY_PING_FAILED
Got this error.
If you open your Command Prompt and run ipconfig /all you should see the default gateway as well as the DNS Servers that you are using.![]()
DNS Server shows 192.168.0.1
you running your own DNS server ?
No. I'm bit of a noob right now so I'm probably missing something.
I ran ipconfig. Under DNS servers that's the address I get.

192.168.0.1 is your internal IP address. I can't find my internet IP either now when I do an ipconfig :erm:
**edit .. Like Genie said.. check in your router..
found mine
169.1.1.1
169.1.1.2
On my router settings mine shows
169.1.1.2
169.1.1.1
Much appreciated!![]()
I may need to have you restart your modem in a few minutes, but I'll let you know if that is needed.
Good grief. Better safe than sorry - thanks for the update![]()
I'm still dialled up at home with my @afrigreen account at home and I noticed I'm getting about 1.5mbps on my 8mbps business account. Shall I switch back to my "normal" account? What happens to the @afrigreen trial accounts?
Your @afrigreen account will be on the same new network as the @afrihost.co.za, and will remain active for the foreseeable future, you can connect with either account, the experience should be identical.
Are you running any downloads in the background on your home connection?
Oh okay.
Thanks.
