Sorry, my edits seems to have been made after your post.

Edit: I have been in contact with AfriMan regarding this and we are busy trying to trouble shoot it. Just wanted to mention it in the thread so other users can see they are not the only ones experiencing the problem.
Edit 2: The interesting thing for me thus far has been that I get different ip addresses for gmail and facebook when it is working 100% and when it is slow. Other users might want to check on this as well.

Have you upgraded from windows 7 or 8 with out doing a fresh install?, could be issues from a previous OS that's causing problems, a Virus could also have done some damage before it got removed, I'm an IT tech, always get customers with problems like these. Try A System restore dated from the day you first installed. :) Otherwise do a fresh install and note that windows just released a massive SP update so it will take a while to download on a slow connection

My dsl line had just been transferred to afrihost but it is now dead including the voice lune. Is this temporary and a part of the procesd or is there a problem?

Sounds like a problem, Afrihost have no control over the voice portion of the line.
Log a fault with Telkom for 'no service'
 
Strange line rings from another line but the phone is dead. Also strange that everything went down when I got the notice of transfer.
 
Can any Afrihost team member help me out with my sync speed I have on my line at the moment? Seems like it is limited on Telkoms side to 2550kbps when I should be getting 4mbps

If your line profile has been changed by ASSIA it might be a bit more tricky to address... Happy to have a look at your line and run a couple of tests to see what is up, though. :) Please PM me your deets.

Massive slowdowns again on basics like facebook, gmail, etc. after 8pm. Sent a bunch of tracepaths to afrihost support, but nothing out of ordinary or strange routing. Switching to google dns didn't help.
Speeds are fine on VOX capped and Afrihost 1gb capped account, so it seems suspiciously like shaping going wrong, even though I'm on a premium uncapped account...

Out of interest, if you ping facebook.com and mail.google.com, what IP address does it use? Also compare it again to when speed improves.
Mine haven't slowed down for the past 2 nights.
For Facebook I currently have 173.252.120.68. The other day when it was slow it was 66.220.158.68.

Mine always used to be much better, more like 15-20ms. Only since the beginning of this year have they been like this.

So right you were! Back on fast path profile and look at the ping improvement! From 42ms to 9ms. What a world of a difference!
