Can anyone tell me what the AUP on 10gb capped, with regards to the Zero rated after hours cap?

There is no limitation. You can go crazy during the uncapped midnight period. It's possible though that the uncapped midnight data only exists while you have cap remaining.

On a related note, capped and business uncapped accounts are not subject to shaping or throttling any time of day anyway.

I did 3 times my normal 150GB cap during midnight hours in December, I don't think there is an AUP. Bryn should know, he is exploiting it with a 100Mbps line.

My ADSL line is currently with MWeb, how long will it take if I want it moved over to Afrihost and will I have any downtime? Are there any reasons not to move my line to Afrihost?

It will have to I think be moved back to Telkom, and then from Telkom to Afrihost. There will be downtime yes.

Why not just leave the line with Telkom, and get your data with Afrihost?

Isn't there a cost saving if my line is with Afrihost rather than with Telkom? I know with MWeb I save a few bucks since I moved my line to them. Plus then there's the not dealing with Telkom part.

Same for Afrihost, the dealing with Telkom part is the same as with Mweb, you just politely flame the Afrihost people instead to get things moving.

There is a very small saving, but the hassle of downtime and moving between isp's is imo not great.

I see I have to use all my current data before using my rollover data if the account is linked to an AH+ Double Data service. Is this by design?

the design is normally you use the data that was allocated to you 1st.

There is no limit. The only condition is that you must have a positive data balance. So if your normal data is capped, then you won't get the after hours data at all until you topup or enter a new month :)

It usually takes only a few hours, but it depends on what Mweb's rules are for moving lines. They usually ask for a full calendar month, which means you can only transfer the line from them to us at the end of the following month :(

Not anymore. The new OpenServ holding pool system allows transfer directly from ISP to ISP and Telkom Retail is considered to be an ISP like any other and seperate from OpenServ (formerly Telkom Wholesale).

The line is "soft-suspended" while in the holding pool, but that should be a maximum of only a few hours if all goes according to plan (which it mostly does these days) :)

You definitely save. Our line rental prices are lower than Telkoms. If you put it all together in a bundle you get an additional saving as well. If you use a bundle and then Double Data with Afrihost Plus for example (if you're on Capped) you end up saving a pretty bundle :)

By "flame" I hope you mean speaking in a friendly and constructive manner. We're all about the love here ;)

We always use the oldest data first, so you should actually use your rollover data before you get into your monthly allocation for the new month.
