^ Those loss %'s are ugly
Weird that the same test didn't perform that badly.

Ok, I am having a spelling crisis at the moment due to frustration.

I am thinking of going back to AH, and the premium uncapped looks good to me. I do not download a lot, but I do stream quite a bit. And I enjoy the odd game now and again. Would this bundle be right for me. I am looking at the 8mb premium uncapped bundle. Is the price R697 for the line as well as data?

Thanks

Facebook, Twitter and gmail SO SLOW. Unable to connect to my VPS server. Really frustrating.

Yip same thing here, slow.
Latency also seems higher than normal.
so is the network starting to fall apart?
We will be spun some story tomorrow I guess.

Dunno. This is the MTR that Critical Care just asked for:

I'm currently flying on the Vox test account, whereas my own AH account was struggling to load sites before I switched. Streaming has also improved noticeably after the switch. Even browsing the streaming catalogue is snappier.

Thanks for passing on that info to our Critical Care Team. How are things looking this morning?

Hi!

You are indeed correct, the 8Mbps Premium Bundle is R697 per month.

Honestly, I prefer our Capped solutions at the moment, since all Capped Users get zero-rated bandwidth between 23h30 and 07h30 each day. You don't then need to worry about shaping, and you are still able to download as much as you want, provided you schedule the downloads. :)

Why do Afrihost accounts have so many extra hops on international traffic? A trace to sipgate.de on IS and Mweb show 8 to 10 hops, Afrihost is almost 30 hops?

I think that the additional hops are visible on a traceroute on an Afrihost account, the latency to Europe should be very similar. :) I would need to see an actual traceroute though.

Oke, not too worried about downloads. Download the odd thing here and there. I am more worried about having a cap when streaming,. It can disappear quickly. Would you recommend not going for the premium uncapped then?

Each product has it's place. :) I just tend to lean towards preferring Capped products. You can always start on the Capped product - for example the 150GB Capped account with 8Mbps DSL line for R638 per month - and then if there isn't enough Cap, you can upgrade to Uncapped. :)

I am currently on a 150GB package but running out of cap, and getting more cap than that seems to get a bit pricey.

get a 150GB cap and attach the Afrihost + option to your account for 99 bucks, you get double data, Simfy access and lots more!:)

Hmmm, then the Premium Uncapped Bundle sounds like it may be the better option. :)
