Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

Getting about 2.5Mb/s on a 10 meg uncapped line. Many sites are timing out today and can't seem to revert to previous login settings.

Just want to clarify an issue that came up in another thread and ensure that I get this 100% right.

Your afrihost.co.za and afrigreen data usage is linked, so use on either account will deplete your overall allocation for either username. Essentially the system sees your usage as a single allocation, so it doesn't matter which username you move data from.

I apologise for any statements we made to the contrary, it was our misunderstanding our developers have asked us to make sure we clear this up so no-one is confused. I'm truly sorry about the mixup :(

Feedback, so far been 13 hours and 39 minutes on TeamSpeak on the Afrigreen, no disconnections with only 0-0.60% packetloss. Just the latency bit higher than usual but it was already confirmed by the afripeeps. I'm from the South. So far looking good.

6mbps Business Uncapped Account

Speed test: http://www.speedtest.net/result/4509164873.png

Location: Johannesburg

Direct Downloading: Averaging about 150kbps (quarter of what normal download speed should be)

Browsing seems fine.

Youtube unable to stream at 720p (has to buffer)

And if I'm downloading and watching youtube then struggles to stream at 360p

Torrents pretty much dead (Averaging around 1kbps)

Switched over to Afrigreen earlier today and so far overall it's been horrible.

Gave my mother the internet for the day on AfriGreen.
Her words: "painfully slow".

Facebook just hangs.
YouTube buffers on 144p.
Browsing slow as well.

So AH - moving back to old account and will remain there until this is all sorted out.

So my internet is slower, can I revert back please?, I was getting 7.5 - 7.8 on the old network, Also latency to Cape Town where I live is more than JHB?

I am also struggling to run youtube at 240p :(

Either they are testing contention or rate limiting at moment, only things I can think of....

Afrigreen = poor speeds
Afrihost.co.za = high latency

one can never win! :sick:

Wasn't the performance OK for you the other day though?
We're constantly working on improving things, I think it's fair to see a few bumps on a network as new as this.

Afrigreen is horrible over all, even with the high latency on the MTN accounts they perform better....

there are bumps on your new network and huge mountains on your current network.......

I haven't had a chance to run through the thread today, but have you posted some feedback with test results? As I said earlier, some bumps can be expected - so just need to hit that sweet spot.
