Please PM how you did this, I would like to know how long it took.

You can move the line back to Telkom via ClientZone , it's under the Connectivity tab :) The migration will take about 14 days.

...and then, once the line is back with Telkom, LEAVE IT THERE!!

The money you save bundling your line isn't worth the hassles trying to switch your line between ISP's (downtime involved as the line always has to go back to Telkom)

^^but once you've started this process of moving your line back to Telkom, then pm TelkomZA (Charl) here on myBB, he'll sort you out in no time.

No thanks no point at this stage. It's been about a year ago. Eventually it was addressed through constant moaning ;)

Coolios. I think we had pretty lengthy discussions on the forums about it too a while back :)

A note, if it helps, on the same issue slaughter and slytuna are having.

I work at home (CT) and have noticed this latency thing kicking off from about 6pm. It's so regular and consistent it almost feels like someone's flicking a "lag the damn out of AH uncapped users" switch somewhere. This continues until at least 11pm. Browsing is also sometimes terrible, but youtube loads videos absolutely 100% and tracerts reveal nothing wrong. I can only notice it when trying to ping local gaming servers, which become horribly lagged from 6pm (1600ms).

At any rate, I wake up early each morning and it's 100%. About 05h00 or so.

This does seem to fall in line with what others are seeing too, the network is particularly busy around these times.
Saying that though, there definitely shouldn't be anywhere near 1600ms of latency though - could you run some tests when you see this again?

My AfriGreen is still working awesomely.
8MB uncapped and we did just under 300GB last month and not one hassle.

Clearly AH does have cash and is not broke, dump R20 mil on capacity and things will be smooth sailing.

That's not how it's working.
We're in the process of building a production network which will be replacing the current one.

how is it possible that the red and the green is down the crapper at the same time
it means the problem is at ah as usual

Exactly, and if you complain then you are told you have exhausted all avenues of support, but they still ask you to continually test. Its actually pointless, and mark my words the new network will have the same issues, and then there will be more promises (new network, teething problems, this is to be expected). Look what happened before, IPC issues, "upgrades" came, and there was little to no improvement, then there was some so called hardware configuration issue, or incompatible hardware, guess what no improvement.

Seriously cant wait for 25th

this is typical symptoms of bad management, over subscription, not enough ipc and shaping down to the bone

I think the guys are getting gatvol of posting tests day in and day out.

/justsaying

Fully understand, however I do need to see tests specifically from electrofreeze - as he's been posting nearly daily without much context, even when Afrigreen was running really well.

You know Afrihost actually need to take a step back, look at this from our point of view. From my experience, and it seems similar to many clients, we have issues, Afrihost in a round about why admit to the issues, and then we are asked to post test results, or send PMs. But nothing improves, and then you are asked to post tests again, and nothing improves, so its a continual cycle of we cannot help unless you post test results, but you post and nothing improves.

We then start to get frustrated, and then we get a bit of attitude back from Afrihost, who are actually in the wrong as its their product that is the issue, and users with tests accounts have proven that its not exchange congestion, dns issues, because if it was all ISPs would show similar results.

I do feel sorry for the reps on this forum, and you do take a bit of abuse, but you are our only outlet of our frustration.

Such a pity, that a once great service has been reduced to this. Retaining existing customers is far cheaper than trying to get new customers.

The improvements we've been talking about simply can't be put into play over a single post on these forums.
They're long term upgrades that will see improvements. More updates will be posted when they're available.
