IMPORTANT POC Testing

Hey guys

Just a quick heads up, we're working on optimising realtime traffic from now until 22:00 tonight.
In order to do this we need to limit some stuff, specifically P2P in this case. So the experience with NNTP and torrents may be a bit up and down.

We also expect connections to drop during some parts of testing.

Normal services will revert at 22:00 tonight.
If you guys have any business critical stuff that needs a stable connection please switch back to your old accounts. We're reporting issues as they happen - so paste them up here and we'll pass it on :) We'll have updates available as they happen.

The last time I tries my Afrivanilla account it didn't work. Are you sure we are able to use them without any interference from clientzone?

Try Windows 10 dude :) I'm only aware of P2P stuff, an HTTP download should be OK.

We haven't locked any accounts yet. Drop me a PM with your deets and I can double check your accounts though.

Definitely! And I think it's definitely been a very humbling experience at the same time.
Saying that though, we're confident we'll bounce back as an even better ISP :)

Sorry to say but my loyalty is being stretched. Third day in a row that client zone inaccessible at times. Tried calling support 'you are number 26 in line' yesterday and today. Testing of ADSL line fails. Speeds erratic. Online chat not available. All small things but they start to niggle after a while.
The downhill slope on the graph published on mybroadband recently was accurate and may get steeper if no improvement soon.

Shouldn't be any issues around ClientZone today though.
Would you be able to paste up some tests here so I can have a look at what's going wrong? Also, have you tried switching back to your old account to see if that helps?

Sorry I posted incorrectly. I'm not testing your new stuff, I'm on a standard ADSL account. It's just that it seems that since your tie up with MTN things have slowly deteriorated. :(

Shouldn't be issues around browsing on the current accounts either though. Drop me a PM and we can troubleshoot further.
We've used the MTN backbone for over 2 years now, and achieved really amazing things with them. I've posted about this before though :)

AfriGuy, Howcome all hetzner related hosting is down using your ADSL?
Email, websites, not working at all.

It will either be DNS-related or an issue with peering with Hetzner.

Could you possibly post a traceroute to a Hetzner-server or Hetzner-based website so that I can see where the issue starts.

I can't get any details from anything hetzner related.

Unable to resolve target system name hetzner.co.za.

Even problems with google.co.za

Any ideas?

When I connect through my phone on Vodacom, everything works perfectly.
Something Afrihost side is down, possibly your DNS?

I can't seem to get this replicated on my end :(
What DNS servers are you using at the moment? I'm testing using a Business account on the POC network with Google's DNS. My results below - ignore the poor latency, running a few tests on P2P stuff.

@Afriguy: everything seems to work now. DNS, netflix, pages load and d3 logs in and is ok. Will test again tonight

I am using the normal 50GB capped, unshaped ADSL Data.
My DNS is the normal Afrihost DNS 196.7.7.7

Everything just started working normally again now, strange.
