AG problematic last night and this morning.
Restart router, works for a while, then dead. No throughput whatsoever. Pages time-out.

Switched to AfriOld and all working great. 15ms local and 180ms international ping. Full speed DL and UL.
Go figure...

When can i expect afrigreen details? signed up ages ago and really wanting to test the new network. Any way of speeding it up? :)

They do the invitations in batches, so there should be one coming you way soon. If you want to PM me, I'll see what I can do for you :)

Can you switch back to AfriGreen now? Should be fine - looks like a DNS problem :(

Good to see!

How is the streaming at the moment? Could you try out Twitch.tv perhaps? :)

Sorry don't use twitch, not a gamer :p

YouTube = 100% at 1080p
Torrents = Full Line Speed
Latency = 500% better than MTN Accounts
HTTP Downloads = Full Line Speed
Web Browsing = Very snappy and no problems

That's all very positive! :)

Thank you for indulging me.

For the next few minutes AfriGreen accounts may have connectivity drop out, we're doing maintenance and updates on our side quickly.

Neotel was mentioned as one (of the many) providers that AH are using for AfriGreen.
Neotel peering in the South is saturated - http://mybroadband.co.za/news/internet/133944-neotel-peering-saturation-concerns.html
Arrggg nooo... Doesn't anyone luv CPT? ;) IPC luv I mean.

This shouldn't affect AfriGreen at the moment at all. Since AfriGreen IPC is located in the North, and all AfriGreen users are connected to it.

I don't know.... I'm beginning to think you guys in Cape Town need to stop trying to download the entire internet each night. ;)

If they paid for capped data in advance they are entitled to do so.....
I'm beginning to think you guys in Afrihost need to supply the capacity that has been paid for in Cape Town each night.:mad:

I think AfriGenie meant it pretty tongue in cheek...

I know we had some tweaks run earlier, are other services slow too?

Downloading from mightyupload.com was slow as well.

Browsing seems fine now. Haven't tested any other downloading again today.

Well apart from Facebook which continues to have loading issues (was fine weekend though)

I am aware of that, but just wanted to be sure that the on and off capacity issues in cape town have been going on for over 2 years.
Down here it is no longer a laughing matter, it is several thousand rand in unused cap.

Everyone in Afrihost appear to think that Cape Town is a joke and problems only get attention once Jhb is effected..........

I remember you mentioning mightyupload.com previously, was it working OK before today?

Sorry this offended you, I stand behind AfriGenie here - it was meant as a bit of laugh.
Performance in the South on our current network isn't great, and that's why Afrigreen is here. We've discussed the details at length.

Again, sorry if this has offended you. Wasn't the intention to offend you or any of the CPT guys.

yeah I mentioned mightyupload before as well as several other sites too. All were working fine before today. The other sites are still working fine I get full download speed up to 1mbps. mightyupload though speeds I get averaging around 300kbps.

Going well - best ping thus far
4MB uncapped
