Going well this side.. Ping in-game to UK servers hovers at about 220ms (not bad seeing that we are still going via the Gauteng route) , but is still on par with Telkom.

Once the IPC in the South is sorted I hope to see 190-200ms ... hoping :)

I hope to see 165ms like before :p

Great to hear it!
Once production rolls out and we see points of presence as they are now - your latency will decrease.

I hope so :) But saying that I don't play any first shooter games so not that important. As long as it's stable it's fine for me.

Alright guys, time for me to start packing up.
Time to find some dinner and the biggest, coldest beer I can find :D

Thanks again to everyone for sticking it out with us today! Really awesome to see that everyone is happy on Afrigreen!
I'll be back on Monday morning.

That's definitely not what you should be seeing. Can you please drop me a PM with your username and some details on what you're experiencing like a traceroute? I'm sure we can figure out what's going on here :(

Am I still on the POC network because these results still the same as ever and the time is 21:13. 00:00 and I'll get the normal full speed again.

Looking at my log I'm connecting to:

Local speedtest shows quiet a high ping, on the old network before it went pear shaped I used top get a ping of about 12ms, now on the new Afrigreen network I am sitting on 37ms, big difference. Any idea why?

@AfriGuy - any chance of replying to my long overdue PM ?

Will do today, sorry man. Been a bit crazy around these parts.
I promise, you'll have a reply before 8pm tonight.

6:36 am the next morning ........ peeks in mailbox :erm:

LOL, no surprise ......... mailbox is empty :p

Just a little life tip Mr AfriGuy and Mr AfriGenie: Do not offer assistance, if you do not mean it, it creates an expectation and if you not really willing to deliver ..... it adds to the frustration that one currently experience with Afrihost's crappy internet at the moment.

Afrihost ClientZone has disappointed on so many occasions, this you guys asked me to share so that "you can look into it" Sorry to say, but like AH ClientZone, your delivery (or non-delivery) on promises is also not very pleasing.

PS: Don't worry to deliver on the empty promise, I have decided it won't happen and will move on.

You are absolutely right, we have dropped the ball here and let you down. But I don't think we should give up on your query, you need some answers and it's our job to get them for you.

Let me get involved and figure out what is going on here. I'll get someone from our Critical Care department to call you go through this with a fine tooth comb to make sure every aspect of your query gets sorted.

Please PM me your account and contact details and I promise you will get the help you've been asking for :(

Can I see those traceroutes? We are generally seeing excellent ping. It could be that you're not yet routing via the local Cape Town IPC, but the traceroute should tell us that.

Definitely weird in your results. I'm also seeing weird stuff routing to google.com or google.co.za (might be the way Google are doing their caching). Other sites seem perfect though.

traceroute to mybroadband.co.za (141.101.112.56), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

5 africainx.jb1.napafrica.net (196.46.25.135) 13.689 ms 13.486 ms 13.394 ms

7 141.101.112.56 (141.101.112.56) 13.078 ms 15.258 ms 23.008 ms

Here's my google trace (removed the firewall timeouts at the end):

Haven't seen this before but latency is excellent and getting any packet loss.

once again it is weekend and speeds are down the crapper again

Speeds are excellent for me - this is pretty much my line max :)

Any results from your side that I can look at?

My connection keeps dropping - like every 5-10 minutes it disconnects and then comes back a few minutes later.

I'm on Afrigreen. Is this part of the network migration?
