Afrihost Pure DSL

So my Pure DSL has been active for over a week now, but even though it's working perfectly and I was able to get my PPPOE authentication details from Afrihost it still shows as "Pending Order" in my Afrihost clientzone and Afrihost hasn't billed me at all yet. I'm not complaining, but I'm just interested know how many of you who have also had your Pure DSL successfully installed also still have it showing as "Pending Order" in your clientzone? Apparently it's because Openserve still have the order open on their side even though it was completed over a week ago.

Hi so Pure DSL orders are all being done manually so the DSL lines team has quite a work load to get through. Pure DSL is the hot product right now especially for clients that do not have fibre and do not want to use LTE.

Anyone else have PureDSL issues since the account went active? Everything was working fine since openserve came to install. Friday the Afrihost internet just dies and in a quick attempt to fix things I plugged in my webAfrica details (cancellation pending), Worked flawlessly.

I queried with Afrihost through various channels why I have no connectivity from them and they have reset the port, refreshed the data account and ran a session audit on my account, yet when I plug in anything Afrihost related, NO internet. Even the Freegig account.
@AfriNatic said that I'm getting a weird IP 10.230 something and it's being blocked coz of this. Headache I tell you... Mind you they took the money off for the month of July already... Sheesh, I actually want to be compensated for this weekend. I'm pretty furious.

oh, btw i am still waiting for them to call me back , way past the time per sms they sent - whatsapp , mmmmm, over and hour waiting for someone to acknowledge me , so much for service ....................

It's been an absolute rush today to try and get Dev to fix the issue. Once I have feedback I will revert back to you.

I'm sorry we let you down. I looked at the line and the sync rate does indeed look fine. I wanted to run some more tests but seems the Openserve portal is not playing ball today.

Do the issues feel like a speed cap or is it more intermittent issues ?

the sync rate is fine now after two port recreates

Installation in scheduled for tomorrow for me. Let's hope that they install it no problems and I can upgrade from 4mbps -> 10mbps as that's what im currently on, but they wouldn't let me order it.

That is some good news. I know your order has been pending for quite a while now.

Yeah were one of the first to rush into it, hopefully, the technician doesn't have a heart attack when I help him pull and move the one line so its a shorter run from the terminal they installed. Quick question, do you know if he will be able to test a 10mbps for me, or even VDSL modulation while they are here? I don't want to have them come install a 4mbps then we spend the next 2-3 months trying to get it upgraded.

My installation was scheduled for yesterday (when openserve eventually contacted me) and the guy arrived on time which was great. Didn’t seem to know 100% what he was expected to do (he came intending on installing a whole new line as opposed to just unbundling my current one lol) but cleared that up quick. Work was done nice and fast and I’m online with Pure DSL :)

So far so good!

I can disrupt the peace by asking where the technician at, but I suppose that's out of your guy's control :p

Anyone else find the clientzone display of your Pure DSL product to be really flaky? For example, mine never shows what my current IP address is, it alway says "Latest IP: N/A". It also doesn't show the correct speed of my line, there are just static gray boxes, one showing 20Mbps Download and the other 1Mbps upload, even though I have 5Mbps upload. Also, the "View More Information" link on the traffic graph is broken on desktop, it just doesn't click through to anything. The Afrihost android app is slightly better, but still shows no information about my Pure DSL's latest IP address. It also shows the name of my Pure DSL installation as "install_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" where xxxxxx is some sort of random string of numbers and letters.

Our Dev team are working hard to iron out these bugs we are seeing to get things in line with what our clients expect from the app and clientzone.

I was thinking of bringing this up but the sheer joy and struggle that went into getting PureDSL overrides the nitty gritty bits like this. Thanks for bringing it up lol, i too hope to see the graph fixed and my IP sessions, etc.

Or people have given up;)

Most clients gets installed pretty quickly but there are some clients experiencing delays or cancelled orders. Cancelled orders are usually due to cable theft or the area ADSL being discontinued.
