Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Vuma Ariel Slow connection again. I hope we are not to start getting this slow internet connection every day on and off for months like we all suffered in the past.

I am paying for 200MB when will it be fixed?

I think you have a faulty cable somewhere, 94Mbps means something isn't negotiating at gigabit speed.

The loss does not carry through to the destination.

Like @Soul Assassin said, might be best to make sure your ports are all negotiating at gigabit speed and not 100mbps.

Check if your pc is connecting at 1000/1000 or 100/100 first, if it is 1000 it's probably the cable between the ONT and router, maybe just do the old unplug and replug or swap the ends around.

The speed is now fixed thank you. Left ONC off for 10 minutes while I played COD MW2 using my phone hotspot using Vodacom and I noticed no delay in getting my profile loaded which normally takes a long time using Afrihost Vuma Fibre. Now back on my Afrihost Vuma Fire connection and it is stuck on the loading data centres screen then says server disconnected. so basically it is better to play using Vodacom than Afrihost.

Is this for everyone? Because since moving to DHCP Vuma Aerial my constant disconnects vanished. So I really would rather avoid PPPOE like the plague. =/

Same for me. PPPoE is a nightmare with Vuma Aerial

Yeah it's just worrying for me.
I joined CISP and had the most frustratingly terrible time on their network. Constant packet loss, constant disconnects, slow download speeds (speed tests showing everything is 100s).
After months and months and months I finally decided to move to Afrihost and all the issues vanished into thin air.
Now I see forum threads here about what appear to be large scale network changes taking place and it's giving me all kinds of anxiety. As that is what happened over CISP and since then it all just fell to ****

Yeah, this is interesting. Vuma Village/Vum Aerial only or all ISPs?

I didn't have issues on either but naturally like my static DHCP IP ATM so If I get a static PPPoE IP then Ill be happy but alas.

Is there anything that we can do about this issue? Internet randomly drops and then comes back after couple minutes but it's incredibly frustrating.
Paying so much and it's not unreasonable to expect at least stable internet.

Hi.
I am sorry that you are experiencing intermittent connection. Checking with Vuma if there is a Network Incident in the area.
 
@Afrigirl Is there any issue at the moment with Frogfoot in Tableview?

I'm experiencing some intermittent disconnects

L2TP connection between CPT <> GRJ died at the around the same time as the latest netwatch log entries:
