Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Morning @Africagirl @AfriNatic Inter VLAN services are not working again. This happened a couple of months and I cannot access my remote site on Afrihost's network unless I use another ISP. I quote the same problem below which was resolved then. Please resolve as I have remote servers that I cannot access.

"Hi @AfriNatic. I cannot access my personal website (work) from an Afrihost connection (home) which also sits on an Afrihost IP. I also cannot access using DDNS either. However, I can access this website remotely from other networks eg. MTN, Vodacom etc. (In other words an Afrihost IP cannot see another Afrihost IP in my case)

This has been operational and working for months and stopped today. Both work and home are 1GBps fibre lines with Vumatel."

Hi.

Please share the source and destination IP with traceroute results so we can see where the traffic drops.

Anyone else can’t connect from Bloem , I’m at my ends with the constant disruptions and having to do the same checks with support only for them to keep telling me it’s Vodacom. The ONT is not the problem , router is not the problem , it’s the constant 45min random disconnection between vodacom and Afrihost servers. I have had to buy mobile data 3 times this months because of this !!! Why am I paying for fibre.

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic Though I dont think they help on weekends. And phew your first red flag would be Vodacom second to Vumatel

Hi.
I am sorry to hear that. Have you tried to take down the MTU setting to 1450 on the router?

Internet not working in Benoni - east rand. Any issues?

Edit - Working now :)

Anyone elses routing going via Sinpagore and Tokyo for US traffic? Arb. Ping rates to game server in US is over 400ms.

@Afrigirl Internet dead for the last 10 minutes. Ferndale randburg.

Seems like the usual dns issue that happens multiple times a week. And suggestions?

Hi.

We are experiencing a high impact outage with Vuma clients in Gauteng. Actively working with Vuma to resolve it as soon as possible.

We apologise for the inconvenience experienced.

Super hilariously and ironically Vuma Villages is still perfectly fine for once. Thanks for the heads up.
