Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Does anyone know who runs the SA Path of Exile server?

Every Friday around lunch time the server starts dropping sessions pretty much continuously, making it unplayable. Almost like some automated maintenance is going on and wrecking the server's resources, causing it to crash/drop connections.

Interestingly, I ran an MTR during one of the disconnects - perhaps not the server. Loss seems to originate around hop 6? @AfriNatic - any ideas?

I am also with Afrihost, however my Path Of Exile didn't have any issues as of yet, ran a pingplotter trace for about 5 mins and only had one latency spike from like 5 to 30, but 0% packetloss. So something strange is going on there

Also constantly crashing in Path of exile for the past hour. Never noticed last week as i wasn't home in the afternoon.

Edit: seems to have stopped.

Yeah, lasted about 45 mins or so, then went away. Could be a location based thing - which city are you in @Sicarius404 and @Convex ?

Hi @Afrigirl . There’s something wrong with my Vuma reach router. When doing downloads the Wi-Fi cuts after about a minute and restarts. Irritating to say the least. Also the speeds are inconsistent. Can someone be sent out to have a look or replace router please?
Hi.

Yes, it is still ongoing.
We had to bypass the traffic because the Vuma pay system broke and was causing clients to get suspended even when they had paid.

Please drop me a PM, with your account number or email address. I will check if I can trace the drops with Vuma before we can log a fault.

Is there anything I should be testing/sending to you?

Hi

I'm still looking into this. It's either a transit provider issue or fno issue. TCP is quite fussy with speeds if the scaling is not right on high latency connections and if there is any form of loss.
