Yup, I have the same. Pings to the DNS server are constantly timing out too.Hi guys,
Anyone experiencing some slow DNS lookups, with the Afrihost DNS servers?
I get multiple errors where it tells me DNS lookup failed, and then succeeds right after.
Also takes ages sometimes to load a page for the first time.
Not even sure how to troubleshoot this.
Vuma, CPT.

Thanks, the packet loss has been sorted out. The latency looks a bit inconsistent though. I ran the following while pinging 8.8.8.8 too. The google DNS was constantly 21/22ms where the Afrihost DNS fluctuated between 6 and hundreds of ms.Hi.
Please check now. It should be sorted now
same, can't even load speed test
Hopefully resolved soonsame, can't even load speed test
Has the connection been restored?Looks like another Vumatel outage in Brackenfell, multiple reports on ESP.
Please share your order number, so I can check.Hi Afrihost. I am signing up on Vuma Reach. The current progress of this says it is waiting on a line installation from Vumatel. I already have line installed and actually just want to move from my current ISP to Afrihost, so no line installation required. How do I get this line transfer sorted?
It has been.Has the connection been restored?

Paging @Afrigirl @AfriNatic
I can confirm shenanigans specifically related to google's dns, it seems to be going very far to resolve this query.
I have changed my upstream dns to cloudflare from google.
I noticed a very sluggish browsing experience. My pihole logs show dns lookups taking up to 1s to resolve
Compare google's dns vs cloudflare here:
Bash:start=$(date +%s%3N) nslookup espresso-pa.clients6.google.com 8.8.4.4 > /dev/null end=$(date +%s%3N) echo "Time taken: $((end - start)) ms" Time taken: 240 ms #240 ms seems excessive start=$(date +%s%3N) nslookup espresso-pa.clients6.google.com 1.1.1.1 > /dev/null end=$(date +%s%3N) echo "Time taken: $((end - start)) ms" Time taken: 26 ms # 26 ms is more reasonable
What does your traceroute to 8.8.4.4 look like?
