Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Wonder if we will get a proper full update for this failure!

Still waiting on the last failure update which was promised

Back up. Take it it's another DHCP storm caused by the same fiber provider as last time? Can you guys not just cut them off until they sort their nonsense out?

PSA - don't reboot your router, you'll have to compete with all the thousands of others waiting for a new DHCP lease.

Still down in Fourways Pineslopes (Vuma). Been around the same time last 2-3 days.

I did nothing and it still went off.

Last time it took much longer to fix than this round. This round was down for just under an hour.

Guess they remembered what they did to mitigate the storm last time. Now they just have to automate it so they can flick a switch and cut them off before it takes down the network.

Apologies for the isues experienced.

We experienced a DHCPv4 failure at roughly 15:30. The system has recovered, and the engineering team is investigating the root cause and preventative measures. This is the 2nd outage of this nature which is unacceptable.

Quick question. How is international latency from KZN? We have recently switched forward path transit priority from Telkom web reach to Liquid Telecoms. Haven't seen complaints yet but generally Openserve/Telkom web reach from KZN is pretty good.
Getting 175-180ms to EU instead of 200 iirc.

Pretorius East: Afrihost / Openserve fibre went down at 00:03. Red light in the ONT is flashing.
