Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

General question; why the buffering on all live YouTube videos? Can’t be YouTube because this is happening on different YouTube accounts.
Depends on the caching. Locally cached content does not buffer. If not locally cached it comes from an overseas source so buffering can happen because of the routing.

Not sure if it’s my area or fno but lost connectivity and can’t reach some websites Google works cloudflare works but Spotify will say I’m offline

Connect via warp and all is good again

Came right but happened twice now

Seeing the same issue with Parliment, Adhoc commitee etc all streaming from ZA so not sure this would be the reason :|
Works a lot better when I am on mobile thus thinking this is related to Afrihost

Thank you Afrigirl

Could it be my line is dropping as my router still shows internet is up and an IP but no throughput comes in.

It happens multiple times a day

@Afrigirl

Some assistance needed - not sure if I get my full issue/concern over via the whatsapp chat help.

I am in the process of moving after buying a new property in a different town and province than where my current installation is.

I still need the old service running till end of November, but have started to see what will be needed at the new house.

At the new property, it seems the previous tenant/owner took the ONT with them. Openserve has confirmed that an installation was done at this address.

My question is:

I want the ONT and Transfer Point moved to another room - and the ONT is missing, only the Transfer Point is still mounted on the wall. What do I need to do to get this done?

Hi,

Please proceed with the cancellation request now, so that the current line is terminated at the end of November.

Regarding the new address, we will only be able to action the missing ONT escalation with Openserve once you have signed up. When signing up, please submit the order as a migrate-in.
We will then request the following from you:

Proof of address
A picture of the TP

Once all documents are submitted and Openserve has approved the request, the order will be treated as a new installation. The estimated turnaround for the escalation and the installation combined is up to 2 weeks.

Thanks. Just to be clear - I should not request a relocation, rather a cancellation and new order(migrate in)?

Thanks.

Just an update @Afrigirl

I was not at home but let Vuma in today but not sure if they resolved anything
Hi.

Waiting for the technician to add their own notes. But Vuma is aware of the recent drops.
