I see very low traffic on the NNI for Metrofibre. By low I mean not even 1/10th of the traffic it should be. This points to very heavy congestion and given the latency and packet loss you see its possible that broadcast dhcp packets are going missing hence ipv4 not working.

PPPoE would likely be even worse with no auth or extended downtime and dropped sessions.

I'm still waiting for further feedback from MetroFibre.

I see there is a drop in traffic but it did trend upwards after. Frogfoot lists the NLD outage on the pages but they have not notified us of an outage and that is likely because the backup links are working as expected.

I have reached out to their noc for feedback.
Thanks @AfriNatic , was just worried that it was isolated to just me, as no one else if currently complaining about Frogfoot here 🙈

Hi @AfriNatic and @Afrigirl

I’ve been having many connection drops on Vuma my internet just dies and it says wan port connected on the AX3
However there is zero throughput Vuma have been here times now even replaced the Ont and no win

It dropped at 20:10 now and I’m not sure what else to do. Dropping out of games all the time calls dropping at random times.

Please can you assist as Vuma seems to be doing the bare minimum said there’s loss on the line replaced the Ont and cleaned the fibers and heard nothing since

On Frogfoot here in EC. Traffic to Cpt seems back to normal. But anything that goes to Joz seems to be all over the place.

Seems to be back to normal this morning. That was a long outage/failure..

Regarding the incident last night and the one I experienced on October 10th, both of which seem to occur between 6 PM and 12 AM, could this be related to the article MyBroadband posted yesterday, 'Fibre problems at South Africa’s largest independent ISP,' or is it a separate issue?

Anyone else have issues with Twitch, it is buffering like crazy for me (Openserve PTA)

This was mostly unrelated to Afrihost, was a broad outage affecting Metrofibre EC and a few other regions/FNOs
