Thanks for the help.
I see the service is back online. There hasn't been an NWI logged yet but it might have been a backhaul DFA failure.

Thank you. the DFA backhaul failures have been a lot better since Jan. I hope they're not starting up againI see the service is back online. There hasn't been an NWI logged yet but it might have been a backhaul DFA failure.
I'm in durban and getting around 180ms:@AfriNatic
Any idea what’s causing a slight increase in ping to a genshin impact server I’m in Durban
Used to be Around 180-185ms now it’s 195-205ms
Friend on Telkom fibre (Telkom ISP) says he gets 170-180ms
Nothing major but curious on the increase in pings
Server IP is 8.209.112.253

Hello.Been struggling with slow speeds and instabilities the entire weekend. Tried getting help from the whatsapp support team, but honestly, even telkom support is better, atleast they fixed the issues eventually.
Spent several hours yesterday trying to get past an authentication issue, which ended with Afrihost support promising to contact the Fibre provider to ask for help, obviously nothing came from that.
Restarted the ONT this morning because of upload speeds under a meg, and now the whole thing is down again.
I'm on the West Coast and use Zoom as the fibre provider. What do I do to get this looked at by someone who could maybe fix it?

First time in 3.5 years my fibre is down. WTF am I supposed to do now? Can't watch YouTube, Netflix or DStv, Mrs can't doom scroll tiktok, am I actually going to have to talk to her now?
PS: is openserve and fault logged on the afrihost status page.

Hey afripeeps, I'm down again. Openserve, Mooikloof. Any idea what's going on?
Really don't want to have to talk to her again...
With Vuma in CPT Northern Suburbs and it's also down now but nothing on Afrihost status page. Logged a support ticket.
I'm having really bad speeds for normal traffic. Most https downloads are crawling along at 100 KB/s, even checking out code from github.com was getting limited to around 100 kbps. Updates from archive.ubuntu.com also capped out at around 100 KB/s.
As soon as I connect to a VPN - in this case the ExpressVPN South African server, the downloads flies at 10 MB/s
An example:
Not using VPN

And using a VPN connected to a South African server. This did get up to 10 MB/s in subsequent tests when I let the download finish

Got customer wording on the ticket and internet is restored now but I still don't see any mention of it on the status page under current or resolved issues: https://www.afrihost.com/site/network_status

Props to @AfrigirlHey, not sure if it's something that needs to be reported or if it will fix itself. I decided to take advantage of the MFN promo and upgraded from 20 Mbps, but looks like it only activated halfway

Edit: Whatsapp support could not resolve the issue so gave me this ticket number: 253944
@Afrigirl, when you are back tomorrow, please could you check for me?![]()
It's the only reason I'm with AH.Props to @Afrigirl
There's quite a large difference between support on MyBB vs Whatsapp support. Whatsapp support had me checking Wi-Fi networks, various other things, whereas the MyBB the rep instantly knew it required a line reprovision.
Afrihost reps, please never leave.
