Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Well when the FNO increases prices, it is a bit difficult for an ISP to some how absorb the costs
It's not all bad. When I first got fibre it was R1k for 100/100 so with the last price increase I find my speed is now at 250/250 - which I hardly use. Going down to 80/80 is not that far from what I initially had and it is a nice saving too.

I assume you are one? Would it change your experience much to get upgraded?
In my case, it's the fact that I'm not getting an upgrade, only a price increase. At least the lower tiers are getting a speed bump for the price increase. Granted, it's not much but I can't help feel that I'm being short changed a little for being on the "top" tier.

Hi @AfriNatic. I cannot access my personal website (work) from an Afrihost connection (home) which also sits on an Afrihost IP. I also cannot access using DDNS either. However, I can access this website remotely from other networks eg. MTN, Vodacom etc. (In other words an Afrihost IP cannot see another Afrihost IP in my case)

This has been operational and working for months and stopped today. Both work and home are 1GBps fibre lines with Vumatel.

This same incident happened in August 2022 which you kindly rectified for me. Won't you kindly do so again?

I have attached a quote from you of what happened last time to assist with a resolution:

"We are busy with migrations of all the Vumatel AEX interconnects to the new Vuma connect NNI.

Not all areas are migrated yet so we are running 2 systems next to each other until all the Vuma interconnects are migrated to the new system and interconnect. One of the lines had the migration done and the other not breaking the inter vlan connection between them.

We had to apply a temporary solution to fix the issue until the other area is also migrated over which will then solve the issue going forward."

We are still working on our Octotel Pricing, which will be communicated to the clients before the 1st of April.

Hi

We are facing some challenges and had made a decision to break inter vlan connections temporarily as there was a complete loss of connection for some Afrihost clients on certain FNO's

I can suggest this https://pptp.afrihost.com/virtual.php as a solution for the next few days until we work out these issues.

Thanks for the temporary fix @AfriNatic

Please update us and all forumnites once this issue has been resolved as I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Thank you again
