The Afrihost DNS makes you use the correct CDN and the others don't.
For sure, but then why are steam downloads and every other game launcher or any other general downloading protocol fine on my PC using 1.1.1.1?

Is it just downloading the apps from the store, I can check on my side if 1.1.1.1 makes it slow.

Please send me a PM with your account number and we will check the node configuration with Vuma.
We have a huge Akamai cache in JHB. Akamai uses both DNS and prefix announcements to direct traffic to our on-network cache. Once you use other DNS you take away our on-network Akamai cache and get served by Akamai directly or via Optinet/Mweb.
Other apps like Steam will not be affected because we peer with them in JHB so we get the traffic from them there whether you use our DNS or not.
Akamai content is usually Apple, Microsoft, Sony, DSTV, TikTok, Some Steam content, EA Games and there might be a bunch of other content too.

This speedtest looks good for an interface on 100Mbps.

I see an emergency change yesterday. There were core switches rebooted that affected some VV areas.
Please capture some of the losses and send a pm to @Afrigirl we will start a ticket again with Vumatel.

I did advise to double-check the cable between the ONT and router. This network cable is limiting speeds to 100Mbps.
Looks like your routers ports is at 100Mbps again.
Please note a couple of incidents happening.
*We noted a drop in google traffic and a drop on our pni with google.
*We are dealing with a nat machine that went down in teraco. Clients on Natted IP's in JHB might experience degraded performance.
*Multiple breaks affected a large number of Vumatel areas.
