has policies changed, since the free double up speed change, my p2p traffic is basically going backwards
No internet connection since yesterday evening 10:30pm ish. (TTConnect). Wan light is off on ONT.
SentThe TTConnect network is really buckling under the loadshedding. We are getting between 20-25 emails per day of switches that are down due to extended loadshedding.
Please drop me a pm with your email so I can double-check the status of the outage for you.
Hi,Northern traffic is routed via East Coast routes for now. Latency is increased but speeds are good and loss has subsided.
Hi,
is JHB still being routed via East coast for EU traffic?

x2 5minute drops recently. not sure if it's related?

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl
The technicians came onsite today (again with no appointment) but I managed to get away from work so they could test. They only checked that the physical line is fine, and said they will have to escalate on the packet loss and instability issue and will need to send another team to test. The ticket is not closed. Please follow up on this when you are able to.
Oh did get another email from afrihost a few minutes later - apparently, my invoice for a service that is not working is ready for me to view. Fabulous! Think it's time to look into ISP alternatives.OK now this is the result when you do not train your support staff and they just blindly follow the idiot chart:
I log a call because my fibre is down even after multiple restarts of ont and router. It comes to life intermittently for a few secs and then dies again. The first response from 'support'?
Please do the following tests below :
Run 3 speed tests on speedtest.net
Perform a traceroute and ping by following the below
How to Perform a Traceroute on Windows
Open the Start menu.
Click on Run.
Type cmd and then press the OK button to open a command prompt.
At the prompt, type: tracert 8.8.8.8 and press the Enter key.
How to Perform a Ping on Windows
Open the Start menu.
Click on Run.
Type cmd and then press the OK button to open a command prompt.
At the prompt, type: ping 8.8.8.8 and press the Enter key.
Take a screenshot of each result and attach to the response
FFS, I'm not having performance issues. I have stability issues @Afrihost-Gian TRAIN YOUR SUPPORT STAFF TO THINK BEYOND THE IDIOT CHART!!!!

Afrihost's international gaming latency isn't great compared to some other ISPs.Good day Afrihost ppl
I need some advice and it's probably something that has been asked a million times by now but, is there somehow a way to reduce my latency to international servers (yes, this is gaming related), as we know, being a gamer in SA for fast paced online games is just sad. Even at 170-180ms at best case is too much to have an enjoyable experience in fast paced shooters.
So if I'm on fiber and I've got my PC open to all incoming connections (DMZ, yes, very unsafe I know), is it just the harsh truth that there's no more improving such limitations even from Afrihosts side?
Regards
Typically happens when you connect to a VPN and then do a search.Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Afrihost is my ISP.
I keep getting the "I am not a robot" page on Chrome. and it says;
Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. This page appears when Google automatically detects requests coming from your computer network which appear to be in violation of the Terms of Service.
It has a timestamp of when I was out and my computer turned off so not sure what could be causing this.
Can anyone help?
