Durban connection is really bad again, was only good yesterday after the day befores issues. Another fibre long distance problem?

God im tired of this country and every service being so half arsed.

Fix your dogshit, its pathetic today.

JHB, Vuma.

And no, you dont need my email, just get it fixed, simple. Thanks.

Is there an issue this morning?

The lights are on but nobodies home. Some sites render, others time out... thought maybe dns so I changed from Afrihost to Google (8.8.8.8) but no difference.

Sorry for the issues experienced. We migrated to a new switch this morning at 4 am and are seeing an impact to clients after on certain devices. We are investigating the issue.

We applied a temp fix to a possible bug/issue with the switch.

Please test and let me know if you have any issues

@AfriNatic ,This was a planned maintenance and it should be announced before hand on your website to your valued customers.

Hi

Yes, it should have been. We have been prepping for a week regarding this change and required simply to change 2 x fibre cables from one switch to the other.

When we did that traffic instantly returned to normal. We did our post-change checks and were happy with everything. We have Raspberry Pi's deployed all over at staff premises and some clients to monitor changes and we were happy.

It seemed that only certain devices were affected and the majority of clients were not affected so we did not pick up the issue straight away.

I do apologise for this.

Thanks for the efforts and quick resolve man. All good here. Life isn’t perfect. Being in IT myself I’ve come to realise there’s always edge cases that only show up in “Production”.
