Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Any work done on the core switch? Connection is showing issues similar to the other day...
 
Looks like Thursday's issues are back :( Pings are OK, speed tests are OK, anything else just does not work. Browsing is like on dialup.
 
I've been having consistent problems with playing Diablo 3 on the US servers.

Latency will jump wildly and I get constant lag spikes.

I've tried using the PPTP VPN as well, and it improves it slightly but not enough.

Playing on EU servers is fine.

The IP of the US server: 24.105.30.129

And I prefer playing on US servers right now due to playing the game with some friends on the same server.

That traffic is going very far over multiple networks and switches. Afrihost > EchoSP > Telkom > level3 > Opentransit > Blizzard.

Anyway you guys could improve your peering agreements and latency?

Having an issue loading Twitter and Tapatalk sites when connected to Fibre. LTE works fine. This is on Vuma Trenched. Am I the o my one with issues?
 
Everything international is poopeh. Local peering fine while transit feels like I am contending with 100 other people on a 1Gbit pipe all trying to stream from Pornhub
 
Cool ideas says metro fibre is pppoe with your own IP by default is is afrihost the same? im comparing to choose

Afrihost doesn't throttle IPTV, they don't throttle anything, most IPTV services are overseas which comes with many complications

Could be to the peering where their servers are hosted could not be great, but I know Afrihost doesn't throttle
