Uhm... Liquid is currently the reason for moving away from current ISP. They just seems to be going down so many times in a working day.

I'm based in CPT, so would that mean all my international traffic will first transverse to JHB before it breaks out?

Ohh okay so there are different types of transit.

Local NLD's between JHB and CPT for example. Then there is international transit from various regions. For JHB for example we use liquid telecoms international transit. This is different to point to point NLDs as Liquid takes the traffic from JHB to London, Marseille or Amsterdam. If Liquid telecoms loses an NLD between CPT and JHB they will reroute the traffic via KZN to France.

For CPT we use a mix of Openserve and Liquid telecoms directly to London and Amsterdam. Traffic does not hairpin JHB unless all Western subsea cables go down then traffic will be routed via JHB to KZN and then to Europe.

I can't go into too much detail but no it's not a 50/50 split due to different commercials.

Which area and FNO are they using?

Not seeing any loss on our smoke pings in JHB, LON, AMS and NY. There was a bit of jitter but no losses recorded at all.

It is on MFN, did an MRT this morning. Will ask him to do the MRT again tonight. He has been struggling quite a few nights this weekend with high latency, yesterday was the first one with packet loss. Will see what the MRT does again.

Might be a line or MetroFibre issue. I personally also use 2 x MetroFibre lines and it was looking good last night. If you can pm me and Afrigirl the details once you have them we can investigate.

The ping remained high for him. Is 195-210 normal latency to League of Legends on AH?

The trace routes look okay. Those losses are on a few hops which means it might just be those switches dropping the packets. The latency is a bit high to Riot Games because we use transit from SA so it jumps to a few providers before it reaches Riot Games.

I would say plan for 1 days downtime to cover yourself if something happens.

I can't see anything network-wise that might be causing it.

I see discord doesn't allow you to select server locations anymore. Not sure if that is new or not.

You do have the option but only in the voice chat settings itself. I see that a couple of my friends have high ping as well and they're on different ISPs. So definitely something on discords side.
