Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Yep, took 2 hours to download a 1.2gb update.
Twitter images don't load and twitter itself seems slow when I am on Fibre. Mobile works fine
There is nothing listed for Roodepoort.
It could be a line fault. Please share the ping plotter or tracert results with Twitter and any other platforms you struggle to access.

Hi,

Could someone assist me in expediting my activation with Vumatel/Afrihost(OVC-300924-00804140)? My MFN service was supposed to be disconnected at midnight, but they cut me off this morning.

I’ve already raised the issue with @Afrigirl, but they mentioned it could take 24-72 hours to resolve. I'd really appreciate getting back online sooner.

Thanks in advance!
I got activated this morning around 8H4X. Peace in my little kingdom has been restored. Thanks all.

Figured it out kinda. When IPv6 is enabled I have these issues. Looks at traffic on the router and it doesn’t seem like a rogue device :|
So not sure what exactly is going on.
I’ll re-enable it when I have time to scratch

If you do get a chance please check. We got confirmation yesterday that the migration is done for ALL Afrihost Vumatel clients in all regions. All clients now get a /56 pd and na allocation if it's enabled in their router.

Was working yesterday but when I turn it on again after disabling it this morning I get this. Not sure if I’m running cheap decos or what’s going on but yeah. I’ll troubleshoot things tomorrow when I have time

Edit : Now it’s working :/

I’ll deal with all this tomorrow and check why IPv6 seems to be causing slow-downs when downloading images and games.

MetroFibre Calix should work by default. Nokia will work very soon as soon as we have completed our DHCP to PPPoE migration project. We have invested a lot of money into these new BNG's and will start migrations to PPPoE soon.
Any IPv6 available on Frogfoot network?

I am still on DHCP, but don't get any IPv6 IPs

I've got one of those, and yeah IPv6 doesn't work for me too

They do work with Ipv6 but the issue is DHCP. With DHCP to secure the Layer 2 network we insist FNO's to use DHCP snooping and Mac forced forwarding.

These security measures are strict and they blackhole some of the v6 packets for DHCPv6 so if you set up a static prefix it works.

This will be resolved once we complete our migration to PPPoE

Started noticing an increase in latency across the board from 19:00 onwards:

No issues according to the Status Page.
