Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

I honestly can't recall. From past ADSL, it was 1480, and I believe Mikrotik automatically set 1480 upon setup like 5 years ago.
Ok, try 1492 and see, it is the recommended standard for PPPoE now.

I do remember back in the day, now that you mention it, when Telkom used ATM T3 links as Backhaul to their DSLAM units for ADSL.

ATM T3 topped out at 45mbps and did add extra overhead which would cause a lower MTU value coupled with PPPoE.

Now all xPON and xSAM units are all on Metro Ethernet, ME has a MTU of 1500 or 1512 depending on configurations. PPPoE only adds 8 bytes overhead, so 1492 should be the sweet spot for optimal performance on OpenServe Fibre.

Can i PM you my details so i can get a Static assigned please?
Hi

I require a ticket ID from your primary email address, requesting the static IP and acknowledging the charge for it.
Please email [email protected] and send me the ticket ref that you will receive from the auto response.

Thank you

I did a speed upgrade yesterday, but it's still not reflecting today.
According to the Help Centre "A package upgrade is immediate"
I understand it's up to Octotel, but more than 24 hrs?

@Afrigirl Not sure if this is the right place to report, but a private network has been hammering my WAN connection since this morning, and the last time something like this happened it was a rough DHCP server, so just letting you guys know. The IP seems to range from 192.168.68.50 to 192.168.68.100
