link/ppp
inet 169.0.243.154 peer 41.170.72.193/32

This is the peer on the PPPoE - and thats ok

But this is Cloudflare. Again

So this is where the PPPoE peer sits:

So afrihost uses some infrastructure at Liquid to terminate off Openserve so the assumption would be that the packet loss is on a link between liquid and afrihost. Probably not on any monitoring system.

inetnum: 41.160.0.0 - 41.175.255.255
netname: NEOTEL
descr: Liquid Telecommunications South Africa (Pty) Ltd
country: ZA

Yeah probably slight congestion on the links. You know how many ISPs go through this very same route. Afrihost, Axxess, Webafrica, Telkom, Telkom Mobile which includes fibre and adsl users. I won't be surprised if it is well over 100 or 150Gbps.
it's all times of day though, eg: 10am. someone (in jhb) posted a trace earlier today and it was fine, it seems to be a dbn thing.

I think your issue is unrelated. This specific issue is JHB IPC related. Only affecting Openserve fibre, adsl in Gauteng and surrounding provinces.

Seems I found my problem, looks like I'm on the Octotel network who are having issues....

@AfriMan Almost on a daily basis, my 100/100 fibre line is slow/shows degraded performance.

For example, look at the tests below, taken 4 minutes apart:

View attachment 801881

View attachment 801883

Restarting the fibre ONT + re-activating the line sometimes resolves the issues, but then it's back the next day/hour.

Your WhatsApp team logged a fault with Frogfoot, ref [FF #528556], on March 4th, but I haven't heard anything back.

Can you please assist, this is getting really irritating now.

Thanks
Hey,

Let me look into your profile. PM me your ID Number or email address to follow up on the fault?

What is the minimum contract period in order to not attract the R999 cancelation fee on pure fibre? Was it 6 months?
Yes it is 6 months. Cancellations there after will not incur cancellation fees.

What gives Afrihost it looks like our pure fibre is been shaped or throttled since yesterday it was fine from 11pm till about 10am this morning then back to shaping, Is this the new policy? I cut over the mweb and it is at full speed, so you cant blame Openserve

There's definitely some shaping/throttling happening at certain times of the day. This is not normal

This is what I've been thinking. But they are certain about not shaping their pure Fibre lines.

5pm-11pm it is terrible. Then all of a sudden it's 100% fine...

That is odd indeed. I take it that this happens on the regular?
